Reviews on Costa Rican food in Montezuma, Province of Puntarenas, Costa Rica. North of Cabo Blanco Absolute Nature Preserve and south of Tambor Bay, along a forested sandy bay, Montezuma has numerous beaches, waterfalls, good fishing, seafood, surfing, snorkeling, horseback riding, hiking, and bicycling. Playa Las Manchas is popular for snorkeling, though you need to be mindful of riptides as you gaze at the parrotfish, rays, puffers, and needlefish. The kids will like exploring the colorful rocks and tide pools at Playa Rocas. Beachfront cantinas, bars, and restaurants are plentiful in Montezuma. Playa de los Artistas on the Montezuma beachfront serves sushi, pizza, and vegetarian dishes by lantern light at driftwood tables on smooth sand floors beneath bamboo lattice ceilings. Playa Montezuma hosts the fishing fleet. Hike half an hour to the endless sands of Playa Grande to swim, surf, boogie board, or sunbathe nude where the waves are big and the currents less strong. Horseback ride, bike, or hike the beachfront path north towards Playa Cocolito, where El Chorro waterfall tumbles into the rocky ocean. Follow the river upstream from the beach to find more waterfalls for swimming. Playa Los Cedros, a small scenic beach flanked by a waterfall and large banyan tree near Cabuya, has a right-handed point break favored by experienced surfers when the south swells get going good. The beaches and tropical forests at the southern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula in Cabo Blanco Absolute Nature Preserve are protected as a national park. Surf at nearby Mal Pais, Playa Santa Teresa, or Playa Carmen. Surf camps can teach you the basics.

It has been a few years since our first visit to Soda La Naranja. We stopped in for Ceviche and beers and we were not disappointed. They really do make the best ceviche around town. Enjoyed watching the chef prepare freshest ingredients - tasting as he goes to ensure the best flavours. Love the fact that it is locally owned.

A bbq restaurant and lounge that offers seafood and best quality cuts of meat to pork ribs on the grill. Mocha is a local fisherman that has grown up in the Montezuma town. His goal is to provide only the freshest of ingredients in all of his meals which
Went to this place as it was recommended by our hostel, and we were very pleased. The chef personally greeted us and gave us his recommendations. We ordered pina coladas, ceviche, shrimp, and sea bass. Everything was delicious and the servers were very attentive. Loved the atmosphere as well. Would definitely recommend!

The service at this place is up there with the worst I've ever had. They acted as if you were bothering them, they seemed cross with you for turning up and spending money at their place!I had to go to the counter for a menu and to order (after waiting ten mins for both). Some other people at the place had their order messed up. It wasn't busy.We had the chocolate cake which was good, I had a mango smoothie which was also good.Shame the service was so bad as the food was great, but I wouldn't go back. Why go somewhere where you're not welcomed. There's so many other places that do good food and service.

Located in the heart of Montezuma with a great outdoor patio. We serve vegetarian, vegan, sushi, pasta, chicken, fresh seafood and much much more...
Although you can eat inside, we ate in the lovely garden in the back with all the tropical birds chirping. Staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. We had dinner and breakfast there and we loved all four meals. On the Tuesday evening a small musical group set up at 7 pm and we thought it would be "noisy and loud" but it was great: a combination of classical guitar and music by very talented musicians. Would highly recommend this restaurant.Thank you so much for your visit. We love our art garden, we are happy you did too. We hope to see you again in the future.

I was not feeling well and had simple grilled fresh fish. Very good and moist. My hysband had the curry and coconut fish and fell in love with it. We were also greatly entertained by the house kitties. Just like home, I think they knew we were kitty lovers.

If youâre ever close or even an hour away, go! Donât even think about the word maybe.... just run and grab a table, watch the butterflies, have an Azul craft beer and eat. We tried about everything and the ohs and ahs at the table were everywhere. From great fish to carnitas on plantains to the piping hot chips it was all perfect.View to die for and if itâs possible, better service. Before or after take the little train to the Montezuma waterfalls and jump. This is what a vacation should be!!!! Thank you all, oh and see you tomorrow!!!!

I went due to positive reviews on tripadvisor & wasnât disappointed. We had pineapple & mint juices which were lovely, chicken & shrimp rice & 2 glasses of wine. The food was fresh & tastes great. At the end of the night, as 2 females we were worried about walking back into town in the dark as they couldnât get us a taxi. Our waiter was so kind and walked us home when he finished his shift. What a lovely place!

This place is an absolute gem. I had the tropical ceviche with mahi mahi. Every culinary element covered. The sweet from the mango and passion fruit, the sour from the lime, the crunch from the peppers and onions, the spicy from the ginger and jalapeno. The owner was running the show and was incredibly friendly and hospitable. You simply won't find a tastier and refreshing meal after an afternoon on the beach.Thank you for your kind words my friend it was a pleasure to have you in for a bite. Hope to see you again soon!
