Afternoon tea, popped in off the cuff. Was ignored for a while but eventually spoken to and seated. Seems like it tries to emulate high end in a shabby hodge bodge of furniture and tableware. Plenty of food and a good selection (two of us). Sandwiches pretty tasteless, some were dry so had not been made freshly. Pastries were pretty but not great. Reasonably clean if you didnât look too close. Friendly staff and service quick once we were seated. Value for money? Not sure. Wont go again. Sorry to learn your experience did not meet your expectations Afternoon tea tends to be most popular with new and regular customers. If your dissatisfaction had been brought to our attention at the time we would have gladly accommodated you with extra sandwiches. All our afternoon teas are booked in advance so the chefs can cater and prepare for the bookings and take care of any dietary requirements. The afternoon tea and sandwiches are always prepared freshly on the day using local (where possible) and quality ingredients. The venue is original 1800âs, Art Deco in character and sometimes, as in the case of the floor tiles, this isnât always a âpolishedâ look. We hope to see you again. met a friend for lunch as a birthday treat. Food looked & smelt amazing but lacked on the taste which was disaapointing. Service was exceptional, price for the food was the same as the drinks £25/£25, so not a cheap afternoon. Ambience and furnishing of this place is quirky. Not for those with mobility issues as its down a flight of stairs. Will return again to see if its back to its great standards rather than mediorce .

Wow! Visited last night to try their Vegan night (we're not vegan but wanted to see what it would be like). Amazing food, such intense flavours with great wine pairings by Vino Vero (located just a few doors away). Lovely staff who were very knowledgeable about both the dishes and the wines. We loved the whole experience and can't wait to return. Fresh, seasonal, locally sourced food prepared to an exceptional standard and beautifully presented. An absolute gem of a restaurant which we're so lucky to have local to our home.

Its a shame that what should have been a happy experience has turned into one which upset a young lady. This was a lunch following wedding/bridesmaid fittings. A restaurant with such great food delivering customer service of this nature is dissapointing. I would have expected the owner to embrass the feedback and humbly apologise again, not respond in such an aggressive and defensive manner. The response says it all really

Went for lunch today with some girlfriends. I had the tomahawk pork, it was delicious really juicy and succulent the triple cooked chips were perfection fluffy in the middle and crunchy on the outside. Also had the truffle mac and cheese yum. Not great for my waistline but great for my mind and tastebuds. Had two very happy dogs that woofed down the left overs. Great service and very attentive staff, we had a wonderful lunch.
