Gastrobus Thurlestone is the sister site to Bantham Beach.offering fast beach food and coffee . we do signature breakfast dishes and quick takeaway lunches as well as amazing coffee and cakes. Something for everyone and as always no comprimise on quality
Friendly, accessible, convenient. Not exactly the fine dining experience transposed into a Bus that it was billed as. Don't take a picnic to Bentham, use the gastro bus, it is what is.

The same family run business, serving beautifully prepared, fresh local fish has moved to an exciting new location. Located above The Kings Arms with a breathtaking views of the harbour and a complete refurbishment, many of your old favourites will be on
Picked this speciality fish restaurant based on the trip advisor rating and positive reviews. Sadly our experience didn't match. We loved the décor & ambience, the concept of choosing 3 fish (pan) or 6 fish (platter), choice of accompaniments and sides and the food was indeed first class. The quality of the fish, expertly cooked was beautifully presented. However, the prices are extortionate - £26 for the pan/£37 for the platter! â and if you wanted lemon sole or lobster it is additional £8.50 or £10.50 respectively!Unfortunately, the service was lacking for such first-class food. Only two staff, leading to lengthy waits and an all-round lack of attention. Our waitress was unable to answer questions about the types of fish on offer or whether it was local, which we suggest in a speciality fish restaurant is poor and the other member of staff, who we believe may have been the manager, was not even in uniform, wearing a pair of scruffy jeans and sweatshirt. She even expressed a lack of desire to have to go downstairs to get a particular beer requested. Despite having shellfish which required fingers, we were not offered finger bowls or bowls for the shells, not even an additional napkin. Complimentary water was not offered either. It seems a shame, as we have previously said, the quality of the food was first class and clearly, the chefs are doing a top job. But if you want to have an establishment charging these kind of prices, the experience and service must match.

Après surf in the summer, après ski in the winter; Island Street Bar and Grill is the waterside chalet-style bar and restaurant offering a warm welcome and a cool beer at any time of the year. In Salcombeâs artisan quarter on Island Street, the bar and gr
We have been here a couple of times in the last 2 years and the whole experience has been great. However this Summer the food really let it down. Service was good, drinks were fab , atmosphere great but the food just wasnât as good as it use to be. The grilled chicken was over cooked on one side, the ribs lacked flavour although were really tender and the rest of the dishes just lacked that USP that it definitely use to have . Maybe we were just unlucky. Thank you for giving us your feedback, I am pleased that the service and drinks were lovely, but am sorry that the food wasn't as expected. I am not sure if you mentioned the issues at the time as we always try to rectify any problems when they arise straight away. I will let the team know your thoughts and hope to see you again in the future for a more positive experience akin to the ones you've had in the past.
