Breakfast from the menu was a disaster. Forty five minutes to get the food which was inedible. Do not even consider the turkey sausage. We stayed 2 nights and the buffet breakfast the following day was ok. Nothing special. We also had dinner, one night. The food was really good. Very large portions. Consider sharing. In spite of the breakfast problems, the service was good. Everyone tries to please (except the breakfast chef).Room could use an update with an attractive bar area which sorely lacking in this hotel.Thank you wheeleee for taking the time to write us about your dining experience with us in LIV. I have had the opportunity to follow up with our Dining Room Manager and our Executive Chef regarding your comments. A peculiar little bistro called mirepoix. We serve a little breakfast, and some lunch, but mostly brunch. We serve quality, handmade and freshly baked dishes, focussing on local, seasonal and organic items (wherever possible). Our small, ever changing, bl
My husband and I come to St. Catherines/Niagara several times a year to visit family and always take my elderly parents out for a meal or three when Iâm not cooking for them. Knowing this, my sister-in-law recommended Mirepoix having discovered it during a biking trip. So, today, the parents, husband and I took a drive and landed at Mirepoix. Itâs a tiny wee place with a bright yellow door. We were VERY fortunate that there happened to be a 4-top available when we arrived. (May I suggest you call for reservations). The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Service was outstanding and swift. Locally roasted coffee was excellent (brand name is â416â and we bought a bag to take home) and the food â imaginative, well presented, perfectly prepared, fresh and flavorful. My not-so-easy-to-please Mother all but licked her plate clean. She and Dad both had the mushroom omelette with truffle and chèvre. I was not offered a taste (hmmph!!!) .. but based on their two clean plates, it must have been awfully good. (by the way, Mother said she wasnât hungry when we arrived) I ordered avocado toast which had brunoise tomato-avocado on toasted homemade bread, a sprinkling of capers, a generous portion of excellent quality smoked salmon, two perfectly poached eggs and a side of baby spinach salad. Husband had the âclassic breakfastâ. Two perfect sunny-side ups, freeform sausage, roasted fingerling potatoes, baked beans, pork belly to die for. Pork belly to die for - yes, worth repeating. The eggs must be from local, very healthy and very happy hens - nearly orange yolks that had real old-fashioned egg flavor and a creamy consistency. All of our plates had two generous slices of homemade bread, toasted. Little pots of jams. Coffee refills just when you needed it. Smiles abound - both from staff and every single happy, happy diner in the place. Quality of everything was superb - and in all of our travels around the planet, this breakfast/brunch tops the list. Yes, we absolutely will be back. One word of caution for the elderly or non-ambulatory: there are three rather high stairs to climb from sidewalk to the dining room. P.S. pork belly. pork belly.

Fully licensed upscale casual dining overlooking tennis courts within White Oaks Resort & Spa. Directly across from the Outlet Mall. Local craft beers on tap.
Our dinner at Play was very good. Itâs nice and quite with a relaxed feel. We ordered the Charcuterie board which had more than enough food for two and total delicious. We also had the fish tacos and a flatbread pizza, both fantastic. Service was excellent. Our server split the tacos onto two separate plates which was a great idea. We definitely will return next time we are at the White Oaks.Thank you "BigGeorge62" for your terrific feedback and taking the time to write in! It is so wonderful to hear so many great comments about your meal and service! Our Mission Statement is: "Each guest will be treated as though the success of our business depends on that individual alone"We truly appreciate your comments and look forward to your return visit!Sincerely,Heather Scerbo, Executive Assistant to the Hotel General Manager

At Ravine we are blessed with a culinary program that has a lot more to offer then just talented cooks in the kitchen. We are among the few self standing restaurants that bake our own bread, raise our own pigs, grow our own certified organic vegetables whi
Jill and I were wanting to go on a car trip somewhere on our special Friday afternoon. I called Ravine, after reviewing their menu. Our eating choices are quite limited, as their menu did not have very much that we can eat. We are no chicken, no red meat no grains no sugar no dairy. We are a real pain for restaurants. I was assured that they would make something up for us that would suit us. (By the way I was not disappointed.)The restaurant is very charming over looking the Vineyard. The pictures below will give you a good sense of the charm. The waitress knew of our eating choices. See I carefully went through the menu, and explained how some of the items could be slightly adjusted to our desires. We decided on the halibut/mussels and the watermelon salad to share. You can see from the photographs, that the presentation was absolutely gorgeous. The flavours were wonderful. We ordered two glasses of the Ravine wine, one being the Cabernet Franc and the other the Sand and Gravel Redcoat. Both wines had a wonderful bouquet and the flavours did not disappoint. The restaurant was well staffed, and the service was impeccable. Our waitress was very helpful. We drove 280 km, round trip (in our Tesla) and it was worth it. Hi Bob and Jill,Thank you for choosing Ravine Vineyard as a destination on your travels! We love hearing stories of those coming from afar and their experience being worth the trip. Our servers are directed to accommodate dining choices to the best of our ability. I'm pleased to know they came through for you.Safe travels and we hope to see you on the next visit! Thanks again.
