Rancho Tecate is considered by history and lovers of the vine as the northern entrance to the wine trail in Baja California that custom named our restaurant. We blend the traditions of Mexican cuisine with a contemporary and avant-garde touch, offering di
The best thing about this restaurant is the service. We have eaten there at least five times. The waiters are by far the best staff that we have come across. They do change staff quite often unfortunately, but it seems they have a high standard in hiring. So it never diminishes with the new staff. The place is a bit outdated and could use some serious remodeling. I know that they are working on remodeling the entire hotel room by room, and so I am sure this will be taken care of sooner rather then later. The location is great as it's on a private ranch which is beautiful to walk around after eating. Especially just after rainy season when everything is green. The food unfortunately is not as good as the atmosphere or staff. It is decent food, so please don't get me wrong. However, the food is not worth the price that you are paying. It's a high end restaurant, with high end prices, and yet the food is not high end quality. The only thing I would really recommend is their Agua Chile de Callo. Which are Scallops in a avocado and lime sauce that is served cold. I have tried many other dishes, and none of them were really worth recommending. They do have a Sunday Brunch which is pretty extensive. I have never actually eaten at the buffet, because it's pretty expensive. Plus I don't feel like gorging myself just to make up for what I paid. I think it is around 30 dollars. I may be off, but not by much. They do have suckling pig that is slow roasted over a fire. I have been there on Sundays, but asked to order from the menu which they allowed me to do. So that was nice of them, because they normally do not allow this.

Amores is a restaurant inspired by the beauty and treasures of Tecate, the heart of Baja. The restaurant offers a farm-to-table upscale fusion cuisine at affordable prices, teaching the community about local products and healthy foods.
Went this evening to celebrate a special occasion. Ordered 5 courses that came with a fresh salad with watermelon, grilled octopus and tomato bisque, sea bass and fresh vegetables, Duck in a mole sauce and cheesecake paired with fresh fruit sorbet. These descriptions donât do justice to the complexity of flavors and presentation. We have traveled the world and in no way expected to find something like this in Tecate.

When a restaurant retains their number-1 spot in TripAdvisor, you naturally ask yourself if it's deserved or not. My wife and I were up there with family, visiting a few of the Tecate highlights, and lunch was on the list of yet-undecided.We decided on El Lugar de Nos. And, wow, we are glad we did.Excellent service, excellent food, large portions, and FABULOUS decor. Our server was bilingual and flipped between Spanish and English for us and our guests. Prompt attention was paid to the simple things, as well as the more complex. It was unquestionably excellent for a crowded afternoon. The food choices are diverse and have flavorful and imaginative recipes. We simply ate our way through appetizers. Beautiful tostadas, of octopus and tuna and lamb, oh my!As I said about portions - they're not shy. Feel free to consider splitting an entree. Are you bringing a large crowd? They have three sizes of "Mixed Grill" - it's food for anywhere from 6 to 12 people!Have your camera at the ready - the decor is American Yard Sale and it's really cool!
