Located in one of Inglewoods oldest buildings, the historic corner-shop dating from the 1870s, it was previously known as Macfarlanes Caffe. The Caffe Windsor is now consistently rated as Inglewood's best cafe. Lovingly restored and maintained, with plenty of original features and a verandah to two sides giving the opportunity for outside dining, this cafe is popular with visitors and locals alike. Plenty of parking on the main road, SH3; well worth checking out.

Fabulous just fabulous from the food to the service. Iâve not been here since the new owners took over however I can happily report that standards have remained high, in fact I would say they have reached new glorious heights. With the spectacular sea views to the magnificent service, smiles all round. I applaud the staff they are so happy and truly appreciative of serving. You are made to feel at hone as soon as you walk through the door until you leave. The food is gorgeous just gorgeous. I had a cake good portion and exceeding flavoursome. They say you eat with your eyes and nose, all I can say is thank goodness you donât put weight on in the same way, because you wouldnât stand a chance. I highly, highly recommend a visit.

A MUST try here is "The Little Fed Hash" it's the meanest way to have bacon bones, spinach, potato hash and poached eggs. The flavor is so good, staff service is very friendly and it's a cosy casual atmosphere. Thanks Little Fed, we'll be back

Visited for a quick lunch after reading trip advisor reviews. Very busy and we were lucky that someone vacated a table as we were pursuing the food cabinet and menu. Two lovely young men taking orders and serving the food.Clean toilets and surroundings. We both had spinach and feta pie which was delicious.

The restaurant is located in the Novotel and has a modern and energetic vibe. The food was outstanding. The ceviche was fresh and went perfectly with the crisp rice crackers and sliced pickled onion. The lamb was expertly cooked and went really well with the slow cooked carrots and extra side of potatoes. The cuisine has a slightly "nouveau" look and the portions are not large. The flavors however are robust and well balanced. Service was professional fast and welcoming. Overall this is an excellent restaurant and a great choice if you're staying at the Novotel.Thank you so much for taking the take to provide feedback about our wonderful restaurant. We are so thrilled to hear you enjoyed your experience at the Governors. We hope to see you here again sometime in the future. Thanks, Sarah F&B / Marketing Manager
Where to eat New Zealand food in Taranaki Region: The Best Restaurants and Bars

We went to the cafe at the Pioneer Village a couple of years back and it was very ordinary, but I presume it has new owners and they've made a great effort to lift the 'bar'. The decor is cosy and makes you want to linger, which for us, is what a visit to a cafe is all about - time to enjoy the surroundings with a great meal and a good coffee!. We looked over the lunch menu and found a number of mouth watering options. Walking into this the Shakee Pear Cafe we felt instantly 'at home' and this feeling was a delight as we have struggled to find a half decent cafe in and around Stratford for quite some time now. In previous years would drive all the way from Stratford to Egmont Village, or New Plymouth for some ambience and decent presentation of food and good coffee! And so, the coffee here is 'spot-on' and that says a lot about the barista knowing their coffee and how to make a good cup.So A BIG Thanks to the owners and the staff of the 'Shakee Pear Cafe' for making our visit a memorable one, somewhere where travellers to stratford can we look forward to a great experience when passing through. I wish you every success.

We stayed here for our anniversary and took advantage of the dinner bed and breakfast package. We were in Room 10. The room was nice, modern decor and clean, although the handle on the bathroom door was so broken we couldn't actually open or shut the door, which didn't bother us too much and we informed management. Lovely spa, though the water was a little brown, but i don't know if there is much they can do about that.Dinner was superb. Liking a challenge, we went for 3 courses (they also do a 2 course package for $20 less). My husband had the scallops and prawns to start and I went for the special which was the duck terrine. Both were amazing. For Mains he chose the smoked duck and I had the special again, eye fillet wrapped in bacon with blue cheese sauce. Again, delicious. My steak was cooked to perfection and the blue cheese sauce was sublime, but the smoked duck was out of this world. I had a little bit of food envy. Only minor thing was my husband found a small piece of tin-foil in his mashed potato, which he informed the waitress about, but didn't stop him cleaning his plate! Managed to squeeze in dessert! My husband had the Malibu cheesecake (flavour changes daily) and I had the lemon meringue. I couldn't finish it, but i wanted to, it was perfect.Breakfast the next day was just as good. I had the eggs florentine, couldn't fault it, my husband had the big mountain breakfast, he said the bacon was superb. All in all, a couple of small niggles, but we would definitely go back, the food is amazing!

This place has a bar and a dining area and is pretty popular. The food was above average and there was plenty of it. The staff were on the ball and the service was good. It isn't fine dining but it is a very good feed.

Italian Inspired restaurant. Open for Lunch Monday to Saturday from 11:30am to 2:30pm. Open for Dinner everyday from 5pm 'til late.
We were visiting on a Monday so it wasn't too busy. Despite having a booking our table wasn't set up for the 5 of us, none the less the staff were very accommodating. They were a bit over the top if I were honest, trying a bit too much. Food was really good though so would definitely come back
