El Vergel bistro menu is created by Donnie Masterton and Magda Pablos taking its culinary cues from the timeless dishes and preparations of the classic French bistro and enlivens them utilizing modern techniques and bold flavors.
We just had an enjoyable lunch afternoon for 5 with nearly the entire place to ourselves. We were seated in the corner of the banquette and were dappled with sun coming through the courtyard tree centrepiece. Thursdays there is a pasta special with a choice of two unique pasta dishes including a choice of several good wines. Delicious bread made on the premises is complimentary and well worth the calories. The in-house pasta dishes were beautifully-prepared and presented. Service from Monica and Aldo and Fabricio and Jose was personal and professional. Regular customers are welcomed warmly and called by name. The on-site deli has an amazing range of quality gourmet products and in-house prepared food items. A lovely place to spend a morning, afternoon and some evenings as well at the end of a poorly-maintained road that is well worth the short drive out of town. What a nice comments, everyday we try hard to keep quality in all that we do. We are grateful to know that you like what you find at El Vergel Bistro, our floor staff are friendly and professional as you mentionated. Thanks for visited us and hope to see you soon!

1. Place is very nice with awesome views to San Miguel de Allende2. Food was OK to GOOD, not the best. The setting makes the food get cold quite fast. 3. Service is good with some people with some staff with attitude.4. Totally wrong the attitude of the staff at the entrance. They will make you wait for your table just for the sake of making you wait. Tables available, place half empty and we had to wait about 15 minutes. Go back? Probably... 100% looking forward to do it... Vegetables and fresh herbs, fish and crustaceans, rice and pasta, meats, fruits and fabulous desserts, all products are combined with expertise in our kitchen. TRAZO 1810 SMA, With terrace and incredible views of SMA
Given the perfect setting for night-time City views, we were not expecting the food to be top notch, so we were very pleasantly surprised when the dishes proved excellent. Succulent grilled octopus, fresh shrimp risotto and perfectly cooked suckling pig to name a few. The cocktails were also well made.

13 (Trece) Cielos (or 13 Heavens in English) is a fine dining restaurant on the Calle Correo, just outside of the Parroquia (Cathedral) central zone. The Calle Correo has many restaurants, but this part of the Calle does not have so much pedestrial traffic.I read in several reviews that the restaurant is normally not crowded, which was the case when I visited on a Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm. There were only two other parties in the restaurant. The restaurant decor makes an immediate positive impression, and like most of SMA, is Colonial Spanish, including the beautiful authentic furniture and the flagstone or slate floors. The service was excellent by a server who speak impeccable English and tried to help me with my limited Spanish. The menu is contemporary Mexican with some European fusion influences. The chef served a small complimentary tapas. The signature soup is the Crema de Maiz Blanco (white corn chowder) which was outstanding. The main was a grilled tuna with a bouquet of vegetables and herbs. I probably choose for the tuna to be more well cooked than I would normally prefer. The tuna was moist and tasty, but perhaps, being that SMA is far from the Pacific Ocean, not freshly caught that day.Their bar is lovely and 13 Cielos has a good selection of local wines, including a visible wine collection in a private room with glass panels. The beer selection is limited and I selected the local microbrewery, Cervezeria Allende. Their quality is on par with any fine microbreweries in the U.S.In summary, 13 Cielos did not disappoint me and a table was obviously immediately available. The cuisine was very good and aspiring by the chef to be great. The service was attentive. The overall dinner cost, with a modest tip, was a little expensive for Mexico, but would be comparable to a good restaurant in the U.S., outside of the major cities.

An intimate setting for you to discover a little piece of Buenos Aires in San Miguel de Allende. Fine yet casual dining as you would encounter in the capital of Argentina, with traditional dishes such as Empanadas, Provoleta, Certified Angus Beef steaks,
1. Thumbs up on the food. My wife and I shared a dinner entre of the Filet Mignon wrapped in pancetta cooked medium rare (Rojo). It was served with roasted potatoes and vegetables. The steak was primo, top chef. However we were disappointed that two of the three empanada appetizers were sold out and only learned this after we had placed our order. Empanada was good as were the garnishes which were a chimmichuri sauce, pickeled artichokes and carrots and a five Chile oil which was âWow.â2. Thumbs down on the website which has no menu to preview.3. We had a misunderstanding on the wine served. The menu lists name of wine and contents e.g. 750ml which we supposed is a bottle but there is no heading as such. Some also have an option which is listed as 150ml which we thought was a half bottle. In turn we were served a bottle when I thought we had ordered a half bottle. So the waiter retrieved the bottle I ordered what I thought would be a half bottle of red and got two glasses of red. Lesson is, only order a bottle, or wine by the glass, as is available. Both the waiter and I spoke in Spanish so it wasnât something lost in the translation. Now that I know this about the wine, I might return for the beef!

My wife, friends and I enjoyed another outstanding Sunday brunch at Rustica. The fresh fruit plate was exceptional along with perfectly prepared fried eggs over easy on top of vegetables, feta cheese and gluten-free toast and coffee. The setting is delightful and Edwardo, the owner is the perfect host spending his time overseeing all dishes, always stopping to hug patrons upon arrival and departure. I do prefer going mid week as we can always find comfortable seating in the courtyard as crowds tend to be smaller.

I had been here a couple years ago and not been impressed. It was different tonight. The food was beautifully presented and tasted pretty good. As vegetarians, we didn't have a lot of options, but the ones we tried were good. Service was good, professional and efficient.
Where to eat Latin food in San Miguel de Allende: The Best Restaurants and Bars

Nomada is my absolute favorite restaurant in San Miguel de Allende. It's small, usually quiet, and they serve exquisitely prepared and presented food. The ingredients are of the highest quality and the freshest available. Every plate is a mouth watering work of art and I almost hate to dive into the food because it's so mesmerizing to look at. (That would be *almost* hate to dive into it, but I don't hesitate too long because I well know the taste adventure that awaits!) The menu is small and changes frequently depending on what is available in local organic markets. There are usually about four choices for appetizers and four main entrees, but if you can't make up your mind, you can order a tasting and get two or three small plates of each plus dessert. Wednesdays are a particular adventure, because they serve only a tasting menu that night. I've eaten things there that I said I would never put into my mouth (Nopales comes to mind) and have never regretted trying any of it. I've literally never had a bad meal there. Their wine list is small but very satisfying.
