Each year we have celebrated my Fathers Birthday. Even after he left us, we still celebrate as a family. My brother and sister and all of our families meet for dinner somewhere in the Chicago area. This year we chose The Chew Chew in Riverside Il. The Chew Chew came out as one of our favorite places to celebrate. Their service was exceptional and the food was great. The have great hamburgers but also have fish dishes. They even have a childrenâs menu. We all ordered the calamari and the edamame appetizer and were very pleased. Next came the main courses which were all superbly prepared. All our food came out correct and was piping hot. Our waitress took care of all ten adults and four kids under 10 without a hiccup. The Chew Chew also has a full bar which we took advantage. Desserts followed dinner with most of us ordering some gelato. Several bottles of wine were consumed and we left the restaurant very full and satisfied I highly recommend this relaxed atmosphere restaurant in the center of downtown Riverside Il

A fan from 31st street in Bridgeport, got an email just a few days ago that Chef Oliver was back, and this time in Berwyn, just east of Harlem, adjacent to the Amtrac line connecting Union Station and LaGrange stop. Interior beautiful, dark wood, hardwood floors, beautiful fixtures. Bar next door has been there for 14 years, exposed brick adds to decor. Started with local IPA for my husband (delicious) and a cosmo martini (delicious as well). Bread and spread very tasty. Appetizers of a trio (tuna, scallops, octopus). Entrees salmon and special (mix of fishes, asparagus and spinach ravioli)-both fabulous. (special was mine, best I have ever had). Generous portions. Bill under $80 before tip.Waitress was sweet, Julie, but a bit slow-possibly new, probably will improve by next visit.

Stopped in at 1:00 on a Sunday and were seated immediately. The decor is warm and inviting. We enjoyed a tasty breakfast. Servers were friendly and attentive. We were not rushed...actually food arrived a bit longer wait than most places but the Eggs Benedict was delicious. Free parking just steps away in the public parking lot.
