Thompson's is a contemporary 'open kitchen' restaurant offering a delicious modern British menu inspired by the flavours of the Island and Chef Robert Thompson's experiences. This original dining concept features kitchen view tables downstairs with a more
We booked Thompson's based on an internet search and reading TripAdvisor reviews, as we live in the north of England. We'd had a lovely day with beautiful summery weather and a trip to Osborne, and our visit to Thompson's rounded off our visit beautifully. We had the tasting menu, which was superb in every respect. All staff were friendly, relaxed and very knowledgeable. The food was beautifully presented and prepared, and also gave us an opportunity to try things we wouldn't attempt at home, such as cuttlefish 'tagliatelle'. I mentioned to the waitress that I wasn't a big fan of parmesan, but it wasn't a particular issue, and voila, the kitchen staff made sure my meal was tailored to my tastes, even preparing some gnocchi to replace an element of one dish. Oh, and the we have to mention the quirky cutlery, the good quality Riedel glasses ( yes, we use them at home ), and the complimentary amuse buche and pre-ssert.

This is the Trip Advisor page for Quay Arts fantastic cafe. Serving freshly made food, cakes and drinks made from locally sourced produce. With fantastic specials every day and a wide range of local ales and international beers stocked in our bar we guara
Stopped off as a first time visitor to have a look around the Arts Centre. What a huge disappointment! There was so little there to see - complete waste of a journey. Decided to visit the cafe - and ordered soup of the day plus bread. Reasonable flavour. An OK sort of place but nothing special at all. Hi Tracy,Sorry you didn't enjoy your visit to the centre. We currently have 3 exhibitons running - 'Wild About Wight' (a community project exploring the natural and built heritage of the island), Nick Martin's 'Fur, Feather & Scales' exhibition in the cafe (which continues the nature theme) and in direct contrast James Jarvis & Ged Wells incredibly vibrant collaborative skateboard themed exhibition 'Plank'. On Monday night we held our monthly free Jazz Jam session and the remainder of the week sees the Quay transformed for the IOW Children's Festival - a 3 day programme of art workshops, theatre, storytelling and more. Friday night brings our popular Curry n Quiz night (hosted by Bobbin Dixon), Saturday sees 80's chart stars China Crisis perform in our theatre to a sell out crowd and on Sunday Lewis Shepherd will be playing in the cafe space for our weekly Sunday Session. With our popular craft shop at the front of the building as well selling a variety of local artists works and a large programme of workshops being held over at our Jubilee Stores building I would have to diagree somewhat with your comments. I hope you picked up a copy of our recent brochure which contains details of everything the Quay has to offer for the forthcoming months - next week alone sees clay workshops for children, arts lectures, a new exhibition from Charlotte Agar, music from BBC Young Jazz musician of the year Xhosa Cole, a Vegan Easter Sunday event in the cafe, and finally a packed day of live music on the Sunday in the form of Sunday and Irish Sessions and the incredibly popular Folk at the Quay in the evening.Kind regards,Del - Centre Manager

An intimate restaurant tucked away in the old town of Cowes.
Tiny but tremendous! A real family business with all the care youâd expect. Limited menu but offers something for everyone. The best meal Iâve ever enjoyed and we eat out a lot! Lovely relaxed pace as no turning of tables every 2 hours. Extensive wine list, lovely atmosphere, fabulous food, small but perfectly formed. A must if in Cowes!

I think the only people in here were the ones who didn't want to watch the football in the Hogshead nearby. Staff not bothered about serving us, when they did the beer was very poorly kept (to be polite). when nobody seemed interesting in serving us food we chose to leave telling them the beer was undrinkable. the staff seemed unphased by the criticism, they must be used to it.

The Little Gloster is a award winning family restaurant with rooms located on the seas edge. Serving predominately local produce in a simplistic scandinavian relaxed atmosphere. It is listed in the michelin guide and the good food guide as being one of th
This is a lovely restaurant with spectacular sea views and a great vibe. Beautifully cooked fish with an inventive menu at the price you would expect (£200 for three courses at dinner with two glasses of wine each and service). The only downside was that they really did not understand about gluten sensitivity so this may not be a good choice if you have food intolerances.
