Both Chile and Argentina suffer from a lack of vegetables in many restaurants. To satisfy our overdue needs, we seized the opportunity for excellent vegan fare at Cuenco. This place is open only from 12 to 3, Monday to Saturday. There are a few indoor tables, and some on the street. I purchased four disches for takeout just when they opened at noon, and stored the food in our apartment-hotel refrigerator to enjoy late that evening after we recovered from a rich mid-afternoon meal at a winery restaurant. We would love to have this high quality of vegan takeout in our home city in Canada!

We went there with our family, the restaurant was recommended by our hotel. It was a nice dinner and we defenitely got enough meat (ordered the parrillada para 3-4 personas). Service was good and very quick. The vine was delicious (as almost every wine we had in mendoza). We were there on a normal wednesday evening and the restaurant was full. So you may better reserve a table to be sure. Furthermore donât go there before 9pm. Argentinians have dinner quite late and if you go to early they will not give you the fresh meat but just warm up the one from lunch (to prepare a good asado it takes about an hour and the restaurant opens at 8pm!).

La Barrica is located adjacent to a large gas station frequented by truckers just south of Lujan on route 40. I know you are thinking truckers stop---well might be some truth to that only because they have a keen sense of value. Once inside you will be surprised to find out it is anything but!!! I have eaten here before and came away with the same feeling close but not quite living up to it's great potential. The service is always too complacent, but some of that is just Argentina. The presentation is excellent as well as the quantity and quality of food. Yes all the elements are there but somehow it always comes out average plus. Basically this is a lunch place but they do service dinner on Sat. night and have a great special, if you are dining with 4 people. Call in for a reservation and specify that you are ordering the special and you will receive 4 dinners (840 pesos value) and pay for only 2 (420 pesos) Don't let my average rating scare you away. This place is worth a visit!!!

My husband and I had the 7 courses with wine pairing. Excellent decision on our part. Each course was a tasting portion. Just the right amount of food for the complete meal. The wine pairing goes very well with each dish. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable of the food they serve. Its a quaint restaurant, reservation is a must.

Great selection of beers, wine and meals. Clean well decorated, glass fronted lay out. Energetic staff help in English if needed. We enjoyed a mixed plate of some nicely cured meats, cheeses with olives pickles and bread. 790 Argentina pesos ( £15 ) Wine by the glass was a generous free pour. Just visited this little gem as part of an organized wine tour through Mendoza. Absolutely delicious! We opted for the 5 course menu pairing option, and were not disappointed. The steak dish was my absolute favorite. View of the winery and distant mountains was gorgeous. Highly recommend!

The restaurant is 30 minute drive away from the center. We didn´t have a reservation, but it was a weekday and we found a table available anyway. Is a famous place inside a shopping Mall (Palmares). Food was great and service was ok. I have eaten all around the world, but never have I had such amazing food, paired with world class wine, served to me by such attentive staff. This restaurant is the real deal and is affordable. Forget your Michelin rated restaurants with TV chefs, do yourself a favour and come to Bodega Vistalba Wine Ber. What was meant to have been a 3 course lunch, ended up as a 6 course feast after the staff bought out extras, such as soup, appetite cleansers and some little cakes to finish off. The wine pairing and knowledge was also above and beyond, without being pretentious.We would definitely return to this restaurant.
