Visited as a group of 8 and had a very entertaining time. As other reviews have commented the service is first class and we laughed from start to finish. Food was great, but only small quibble was it is described as tapas but I am used to tapas you share without having to cut your food up. Some dishes were very shareable but the pork belly not so.Great place to visit I will do so again for sure.Dear Peter G, It's wonderful to see that you will return to Albatross & Arnold and that your party of 8 had a great evening. We thank you for your review and feedback regarding the food and look forward to having you with us again soon. Kind regards,Sandra

We booked here after being inspired by Adam on the Great British Menu. So naturally we opted for the Great British Menu menu and were blown away.Firstly we were running late due to road closures in Manchester for the Conservative party conference. We rang up and explained and were greeted by a lovely girl called Ellie who said oh don’t worry just get here when you can. When we arrived late, we were seated straight away with a view of the desert preparation station which was great to watch talent in action. We were presented with a signed menu from Adam, as it was our anniversary - a lovely touch and keepsake. Every single member of staff we came in contact with was amazing - the gentleman serving the water was so sweet and lovely, the chef who served the food to us was so knowledgable and passionate & the younger gentleman on the sweets was great - dead chatty & passionate with a little bit of cheekiness. The lovely lady who served us with drinks and looked after us all night was lovely! People have mentioned in previous posts about drinks being expensive - we asked about sweet rose wine, and the lady explained they’re all quite dry but the sweetest was... so she definitely was knowledgable but wasn’t ripping us off. Instead we opted for the recommenced raspberry gin & lemonade, and my partner had the Manchester pale ale. Both were great and reasonable priced at about £10-£12 for a gin. The food arrived in a timely manner & each dish was explained how it was cooked, how ingredients were sourced etc. It was lovely to hear the full story behind the creation. All dishes were amazing - but The tattyhash was my favourite with the sublime beef butter! My partners favourite was the gorgeous rhug estate chicken with the crispy chicken skin, closely followed by the resurrected treacle tart desert (even though he’s got a sweet tooth!) The lady asked us if we’d like to meet Adam in the kitchens once we’d finished our meals, after she found out I watched the GBM. What a great guy! So friendly and chatty, asking us about our thoughts on the menu etc. When we said well we met to the stone roses so the desert was extra special, he told us the inspiration behind it which was great! It really finished the experience off and made it that bit more special. I can’t wait to return and try more amazing dishes! I recommend anyone debating about going to book now - You will not be disappointed. I’ve already recommended it to everyone I know!! FYI - our full bill for the night was £205. Without tip/service charge included. This covered 2x GBM 4 courses (£85 pp), 2x pale ales, 2x gin & lemonades, 2x bottles of still water. Which we thought was excellent value as we both expected it to be higher.
