Visited my cousins in SA a few years back and they took me and my mum here. Service was a bit slow and it was crowded, but when we got that food boy did it hit. Definitely try it out if you're a sensible person and don't eat McDonald's, lol. It is a bit pricey as I recall tho, so make sure you watch your tab when ordering.Well, the customer is always right, and in this case, we'd have to say you're clearly an expert on good food! We really enjoyed the menu, electronic and lots of exotic options to choose from (maybe add some more pictures to menu).We had great fun experimenting with the cocktail mixes and juices. We ordered lots of the starters and they came professionally on a platter. The food was very tasty and had some delicious flavours. The plum sauce was a win!Leroy was a great waiter, was patient, helpful and friendly. Thank you so much!

Currently there are renovations in the mall and the restaurant is hidden behind boards and not clearly marked for a first timer. The waiting time for our meals was long, about an hour despite the restaurant not being busy. The dishes were good but the matured club steak was full of tendons. The same for the fillet. The dessert dishes are interesting on paper but the combinations, eg katafi shreds with ice cream, eish, are difficult to eat. Also the dessert portions are small. However the fish and chips on the chefs recommendations was large and good as was the sirloin.

We went to La Pentola for the first time last night. What a wonderful experience. The waiter knew the menu like the back of his hand. The food was delicious, full of flavour and beautifully presented. Even though they hosted two huge touring groups, the service was still fantastic. I will definitely be back and next time I am taking friends with to share the experience.

This restaurant was superb, both for food and professional service. The menu provided variety for out party of 4 adults (1 vegetarian) and 2 teenagers. Two of us ordered the evening special, one chicken dish and the other a ribeye on the bone. There was also a very nice wine selection and a very nice dessert menu. 5 stars to the chef and the staff for a very memorable first visit! Parking is validated which is a nice advantage too!

A friend and I had lunch at Café del Sol. Being winter, we chose to be seated inside. We thought we had decided on our food choice when the waiter took us through the specials of the day - we both changed our minds and ordered the bacon and brie fillet. Wow, it was superb - tender meat under baked brie and surrounded by crispy bacon - a feast of tastes! This place promotes itself as a premium restaurant. Don't be fooled by the fake advertising. Its noisy and overpriced. We went for an evening with business partners. We could hardly talk to each other as the noise level in the restaurant as determined by a Cell noise level app was 86 decibels. That's like sitting by a very noisy road.The food was very average. My T-Bone stake was nothing more than a Rump with bone on two sides. Roast potatoes were soggy and the puree completely missing. All this for R350.00!! Rip off. When I complained to the floor manager he simply did not comprehend that a T-Bone stake should have meat on both sides of the T.The cutlery on the tables was basic canteen standard. I would have had a better experience at a franchise restaurant at a third of the price.

We came through for the picnic on Saturday and I just wanted to thank you and your staff for making it such a wonderful and memorable experience! The menu was fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed everything! A few of the standout items were the breads (so wonderfully fresh), the pate, tapenade and dressing were very tasty, the brownies were a wonderful treat and of course the prawns were delicious and left us wanting more! The picnic basket itself was neatly packed and a real treat to be surprised when opening each container to see what was inside â loved that!The area and setup was very relaxing and the sound of the water streaming by made it very peaceful. We both appreciated that the area was private and quiet, it made it that much more special.Michael was our waiter and was very friendly and went the extra mile with bringing us extra ice for our champagne â real 5 star servicing, as we have come to get used to at Forum Homini.It was a great experience - highly recommend!

Went for a family dinner and good seating was available. The venue was comfortable and reasonably spaced out. We each had a starter and a main course. The snoek starter was very tasty and there was a good choice of main course dishes. The ladies found the venison parcels a bit filling but they looked small to me. This was a disappointing evening. The first 3 courses were well presented by the Somuleur who then for some unknown reason disappeared. We requested that the meals be spaced so that we could enjoy a lovely evening seated outside, as we were smokers. Unfortunately, we then had to constantly request the waiter to remove the used wine glasses which were cluttering the table, we had to request that they clean the ashtrays, and then we were advised that the kitchen was closing (21h00?? for an 8 course wine pairing evening). - Thereafter the food was put on the table, with no cutlery and we had no idea what we were supposed to be eating and what type of wine we were being served with that particular meal ! And when we questioned this we were then informed by a waiter - really ?- what happened to the presentation of the first 3 courses??? We were then offered a discount on our bill, in front of our guests, for our inconvenience! We do not make comments at a restaurant so that we can get a discount, but for their benefit. This was most embarassing in front of our guests.It seemed that the restaurant, which came highly recommended, did not properly make provision for a 8-course wine pairing evening. So sorry - but we will not be returning.Dear orpa711, Thank you for taking the time to review us and for informing us of the issues you experienced. We apologise for the inconvenience caused and are deeply disappointed that you received unacceptable service which has been addressed with our team.
