Owner and Executive Chef, Ilario Suppa, learned how to cook from his father, Chef Silvio Suppa, who was born in the Campagna Region near Naples, Italy. He took Ilario under his tutelage when he was just 14. âIâd come home from school and go directly to ou
We had an enjoyable dinner. They had both indoor and outdoor seating. They had a nice menu - appetizers, soups, salads, pasta dishes, chicken, fish, beef, veal dishes, drinks and desserts. We ordered two dishes to share- Chicken Marsala and Pasta Primavera. Both dishes were well prepared (fresh ingredients)and generous portions. We had leftovers to bring home. In addition we had good service.

This deservedly popular restaurant has the most beautiful view of LI Sound and across to Long Island. Right on Madison Beach, the covered veranda is a choice spot for meals while watching sailboats right offshore. Connected to the gorgeous AAA Four Diamond-rated Madison Beach Hotel in the pretty town of Madison CT, this was a perfect spot for our summer lunch with friends. The food was exceptional - everything we had was delicious from mussels, sandwiches and salads. However although the waitstaff was very pleasant, service was really odd. We had to ask twice for our table water glasses to be filled, some of us got lunch menus and others got dinner menus (replaced with apologies), no spoons were provided with the soup, a couple of glasses of wine took 15 minutes to arrive as did later coffee and a plate was snatched from one diner while they were reaching for a french fry. Not what one expects from such an upscale place. We are always happy to be patient when a restaurant is popular and busy and no one of these issues was really terrible, but the cumulative effect was one of inattentive service. That said, we would definitely go again and would guess that a Sunday brunch here would be wonderful.Dear VoyagesByTwo -Thank you for your review! I regret that our service was not up to par, and appreciate your frank and valuable comments. We take great pride in our level of service and I regret that we missed the mark with your table. Please come again so we can provide the experience you expected and deserve. And, yes, we have a fabulous Sunday brunch!

Menu is more than merely grilled cheese and soup. Many variations on the old favorite can be found here. The Mousetrap (five cheese blend) was great, but the French Mouse (Brie and apricot jam) was amazing. Friendly staff and good food. We'll be back to try other things on the menu. Highly recommended.

My wife and I ate here tonight and had a great meal and experience. I eat out a lot and my entrée - yellowfin tuna, with jasmine rice and stir fried vegetables, wakame salad and a wasabi cream - was one of the best entrees I've had. A variety of textures, the sushi grade tuna was appropriately cooked (rare), the vegetables were rich, and the cream added a good sharpness. My wife had chicken piccata, which she asked for without garlic. There was no pushback from either the server or chef to the change. For dessert, we had churros with a lemon glaze. The churros were light, without any greasiness and the cream had a delicate tartness. The room is very attractive. Overlooks the beautiful Guilford green. (The snow a couple nights before made it even prettier.). The lighting is good - with candles along the windows - and nice art on the wall. Noise level is fine. There's a bar, but there was no loud bar scene at 7:30 on a Friday. Service was very attentive. Our server paid attention without being all over us. If we needed something, she appeared immediately. Kept track of her tables and didn't seem to be overloaded. We have been there before. Tonight's experience was typical and this is becoming one of our go to places.
