I booked the Golden Lion Inn due to being away on a work trip. I was really happy with the food including the breakfast and an amazing pudding!I was also really impressed with how friendly, attentive, professional & accommodating the staff were. The rooms are in need of modernising but all in all they were clean with fresh towels being provided on a daily basis. There is plenty of parking which is great as I have struggled with this in the past at other hotels-it makes a big difference! Will recommend to other colleagues. What a shame. Somewhere Iâve been eating 3-4 times a year on special occasions for the last 4 years since moving to Burbage, and this last visit was just not worth it.The service was average, food was nothing special and very overpriced considering, itâs just nowhere near as good as it used to be.Lobster and prawn curry was a tiny portion, mainly prawns, tasteless and the only lobster in there practically inedible, it was so overcooked. My wifeâs starter was also cold when it arrived. It feels to me like they are profiteering, trying to cut quality of food and portion size, without amending the prices. We wonât be going back for the foreseeable. Such a shame, as it used to be a treat, now it just feels like a rip off.

Not what it used to be, had a take away of Tandoori mixed grill which was very over cooked. My partner had a combo option which was bland and tasteless. Had popadoms with a poor selection of options. Over all a very poor meal and will not be ordering from this business again. A real shame as this used to be my go to restaurant.Apologize for unconvinient couse. Customers satisfaction is our motto.
