From the outside the Baviera looks a little austere, just a door in a stone wall, but we were drawn into by the sign on saying (in Spanish of course!) that they had wild mushrooms! The place was almost empty, and there were various tapas offerings on the counter, but we asked about the wild mushrooms... A very friendly and helpful man did his best to explain what the possibilities were as they weren't on the menu - even bringing out a basketful to show us (luckily my husband has a little Spanish!). We tried two types of mushrooms - one with scrambled eggs, and another on toast & goats' cheese, with gratings of truffles! Both were excellent!!! 3 glasses of a special wine, plus 3 glasses of beer and the 2 mushroom dishes for 2 came to 26 euros - not bad for 'daring' adventure!! It was great fun!!

The daily menu at 13 euros in October/18 was excellent value: Appetizer, main, dessert, and wine all included. We were 4 adults and a six-year old, all non-Spanish speaking but the server printed out copies of the menu in English then patiently located the corresponding Spanish as we made our choices from the multiple options for each course. All was very tasty. Our grandson who chose melon and ham for an appetiser had enormous pieces of melon and copious amounts of ham. I loved my stuffed peppers. For North American tastes, the meat courses were overcooked. I like my rabbit succulent not crispy but I enjoyed all the vegetable accompaniments. My spouse found his lamb overdone, and my daughter and son-in-law also found their veal overdone. Desserts were very good: light and refreshing, even the ââjungle cakeââ which turned out to be chocolate cake with chocolate mousse. We were given a bottle of house red which was quite acceptable. My daughter informed me that if one of us had asked for white wine, we would have been given a bottle of each. This is a good restaurant to sample local cuisine inexpensively.
