The Queens Head has to be my favoured local restaurant, being about 100 metres from my front door.However, about 3 years ago, I had 3-4 consecutive bad experiences (cold food [not salad], wrong dishes delivered and lousy service). I stopped visiting and moved my preference down the road.About three months my circumstances changed meaning that I would eat out every evening. I chose to return to the Queens Head and do not regret the decision one tiny little bit. The new landlord and his staff are a different breed. They are very keen to please and work extremely hard at busy times.The food and selection has also improved immensely. For example Mussels and Scallops are now regularly available and very well cooked/prepared.So all in all I am able to thoroughly recommend this quaint Pub.

Went for lunch with group of walkers. Everyone enjoyed their food. I had £7 goats cheese baguette which was generously filled with cheese and salad. Excellent, best sandwich have had recently. Pleasant staff and good service. Nice pub atmosphere.

We came here for afternoon drinks and cakes on a recent visit to Hartley Whitney. It was a sunny day so we sat outside in the sunshine, nice setting, service was good, we had coffees and various scones, toasted tea cakes etc, all good, would come back again next time we are in the area.Thank you so much for taking the time to post this lovely review. We booked a table for sunday lunch on recommendation and were not disappointed. Fantastic venue, lovely helpful staff in particular duty manager Tom who was especially helpful. The food was incredible, and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere. Great value for money and worth every penny. Will definitely return.
