Find out what Contemporary restaurants to try in Guadalajara. The inland city of Guadalajara is bursting with history and culture. Many attractions are in the city's historic center and in the neighboring city of Zapopan. Museums, parks and churches flourish alongside bullfights, rodeos and soccer (futbol). Nearby are the towns of Tequila, where the liquor of the same name is produced, and Tlaquepaque and Tonala, where artisans create an abundance of Mexican handicrafts. Mariachi, which originated in the area, is a common sight and sound in Guadalajara.

SUPER nice service from the kindest waitress ever (she even got our son a sweatshirt when he was cold). There was a huge rain/wind/hail storm and the glass doors made me very anxious, but again, the waitress was awesome and helped us move. The food was VERY good (ensalada de papaya verde, pollo frito, eggplant, sticky rice) except for the slightly strange green curry, but when we mentioned it, they brought us another, better version. Good food, wonderful service. A bit pricey, but I would go back! Hello, Thanks for coming and visit us. Unfortunately Guadalajara is being having huge climate changes and that night wasn't a normal rain it was a huge storm. Hopefully you come back and give us a 5 star review!
Open restaurant with short menu of seasonal dishes. We get inspired in the fresher ingredients of mexico and in its most traditional recipes with a creative twist.

The experience of going to the market, see, smell and touch all the ingredients , that they will be tranform in the kitchen. This is what we do all days.
The writing was on the wall - the moment we sat down...this was labeled as "Spanish restaurant"...first thing they offered was an assortment/menu of Gin and tonics???, where is the Rioja wine. I asked for a cold bottle of Albarino...the waiter looked puzzle and immediately said "we do not have it"...I looked at the wine list and right on the top line is Rias Baixas Albarino...they had it on the menu but no wine, we ordered a french wine that it was corked, tried another choice and they could not find it...so my friends and I decided to leave the table. I must say the maitre D' was very kind when I asked him to get us a taxi. Too bad I was in the mood for Spanish wine and food.We are so sorry your experience with us was so bad, We are working hard to improve this details, In your visit the Manager was not there and the waiter was new. We are terrible sorry for this disaster. If you can give us another chance we will gladly invite you the dinner and try our really experience. Nativo Taller Gastronómico is a Mexican Contemporary Restaurant based on a classic kitchen and a mixology recipes and combined with techniques of all times and top local products.
To start it becomes an outdoor dinner experience but, indoors. Got to love that they display many of the menu dishes on flat screens including the preparation and ingredients. Great service from server. You ask and they will answer very politely. They will make sure before you start with your gastronomical experience if you are allergic to any items so they can go around it somehow. They want to make sure you donât forget your experience at their place. Great flavor. Good fresh Salsas placed at tables for enjoyment. Had to order 2 starter dishes as they have great choices. Must try bone Marrow with the gray tortillas. This is the place for great cocktails to be enjoyed in a nice hot summer afternoon. Silverware and dish ware very original. Great selection of wines. Once you experience this place, you will want to comeback.

Lula Bistro offers a very unique experience inspired by Mexican cuisine. Here you will find an interesting array of contemporary fine dining selection, including the deconstruction and reinterpretation of some typical regional dishes.
We had high hopes for this meal based on reviews. Arriving at the appointed time, we were the only diners in the restaurant for a long time and only 5 other diners the entire night. The restaurant is obviously on its last leg. The restaurant is nice inside, but the chairs are hard plastic and uncomfortable for a long tasting meal. The restaurant specializes in a tasting menu of 8 or 12 courses. We chose the 8 course menu which had mostly misses and a few good items. The calamari packet was good and tasty to start. The salad with sun dried tomatoes also good. Salmon was not cooked well and is not even a fish native to Mexico. The roast baby pig was also good like a pulled pork. Many types of sauces are served with the courses. The dessert was a lava cake like what you get at Chili's and nothing special. The tableware is bargain basement like purchased at the Dollar Store. The bartender cannot even make a margarita in Guadalajara. The drink ordered on the rocks came like water with tequila and lime juice and was undrinkable (no ice cubes). They do have a nice wine list but red wines come to the table ice cold. The worst part of the evening was paying the check. They are supposed to accept credit cards but apparently have not paid the payment processor and could not process a credit card payment in any manner. Excuses included low batteries and poor signals. I was forced to take a taxi to an ATM to take out cash and return to pay the bill. They could have cared less and offered nothing for all of the trouble. Based on everything I saw, this place will be closed in two months or less if they can afford the rent that long. Perhaps, was good years past. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone considering all of the other great places in Guadalajara. Avoid this one at all costs!Your comment is important to us, and we take seriously the opinions you express. At Lula Bistro, we take criticism as an opportunity to improve and to grow. Pleasing our customers through what we do best is our highest priority. To know your thoughts is valuable to us, and we thank you. On your next visit, we would love for you to let us know in person about your experience.Best regards

Our house in the heart of Providencia, the most wooded area of the city, it is a green and quiet oasis in the middle of the city bustle. For an impeccable business lunch, great moments as a couple, with the family or friends, at Ofelia Bistro we have a sp
This was our first visit to Ofelia Bistro (March 22, 2019). We were quite impressed with the service. The entire staff was attentive, pleasant and orchestrated their visits to our table so that nothing was missing while not being disruptive of our table conversation. It was not that we lucked out with our wait staff. Every single staff member went above and beyond to make our experience a very special one. The food was just as outstanding. We had several dishes to try a variety of their cuisine. The seared tuna was cooked just right and was fresh. The octopus and escargots were tasty too, as was the "costilla de res". They have a varied wine selection too. I will definitely go back when I return to Guadalajara.Todo estuvo excelente. Gracias a Ofelia Bistro y su equipo por contribuir a una gran noche y una gran cena. Volveremos! We`re grateful to have a kind opinion like yours. This is very important to our crew to know that we can satisfy your taste and offering you a great experience. Thank you very much to share it here. Hope to see you soon at Ofelia Bistro.

The restaurant is quite new in the city apparently and has a nice wide variety of ramens and other traditional Japanese dishes, no waiting time at 1pm and the place is nice and quite. Prices are completely affordable too. Service was professional and friendly.

Nice international cuisine place where youâll have the chance to try the best wild pig youâve ever savoured. This awesome dish was not in the menu, and was the personal choice from the chef himself. A kind of Wellington without the foie. Subtle. A must.
