We went as a group of 4 last week and were impressed with the friendly staff. The food was was well presented and tasty.Between us we had garlic mushrooms; cajun chicken skewers; steak and chips; chicken chasseur and pork chops. The wine list had something for everyone and we each had different ones.

A family owned cafe bar by day and a cocktail gin prosecco with Draughts beers by night. Serving from 8.30 for breakfasts though till late on an evening. We serve light lunches, cater for afternoon teas, take private bookings and welcome children xx
The window table we booked 2 weeks beforehand was occupied when we arrived which was disappointing as this booking was for my friends birthday treat. The staff hurriedly set up another table for us.We had the champagne afternoon tea but instead of tea we wanted coffee which we were made to pay full price for. The food and cakes were nice but the overall experience was a let down when we were so looking forward to a treat. We wouldnât rush back.Sorry you felt the need to leave a review like this. The table was indeed occupied in the window when you arrived, we didnât really release that the people in the window would stay and drink as long as they did. This is always a hard one to judge as we couldnât leave that table free just for a booking as you can appreciate we are only a small venue. We offer three types of afternoon tea, one with tea or coffee one if you choose prosecco and the other choice is with a cocktail. You were charged for the prosecco afternoon tea and then you wanted hot drinks so yes of course we would have charged you for this. This was an extra.Glad you enjoyed the good but really a two star because you didnât get to sit in the window and you wouldnât rush back ? Thank you for dropping our score we strive to please and I challenge you to find another afternoon tea with such value for money as ours!
Well if you're in Castleford and want a coffee and a cake, a Smoothie or lighter lunch then this is the place to go! It's only been open a few weeks and already we've been several times! It's colourful, comfortable lounge settees and chairs or your normal seating inside and out but as it's in the covered shopping area if it's colder in the street it's not a problem in The Lanes! Prices for a coffee and a muffin are competitive so you save a little too and don't forget to use your Loyalty Card! You always get a warm welcome so go on give it a go!
