âThere will come a day when our championing of this brilliant French restaurant means we will not be able to book a seat there due to it being so busy! Until that time we will simply state our great admiration for the cuisine, wine and new décor.â East An
On a nice day in Bury St Edmunds a visit to the Abbey ruins and gardens followed by lunch in Maison Bleue is my idea of heavenly pursuits! Understated but elegant decor, impeccable service and wonderful cooking, Maison Bleue is everything a good restaurant should be. As other reviewers have hinted it is surprising that it does not hold a Michelin star â mark you I am thankful it does not because it is quite busy enough without one! This is most definitely a restaurant to visit if you are anywhere near Bury St Edmunds. A true five star dining experience.

Lovely venue, comfy chair and sofas as well as proper tables. We sat upstairs, lots of lovely nooks and crannies! Found a brilliant table of crayons, books and colouring pads for our 3 year old son. Had tapas to share which was delicious, and children's menu is also good. Very relaxing and friendly.Hi Chembabe76,Many thanks for your review, we love to cater for both big and little loungers alike so we are glad your little one enjoyed the activities! we hope to see you in some of our comfy chairs again soon!Kindest RegardsRachel and the Edmundo team

As the other reviewers say the conversion is brilliant and contrary to some the service excellent. The nenu was more than adequate and the cooking and presentation excellent but some of the dishes for example Loin of venison very small and so over-priced. Nevertheless it proved a very satisfactory place to meet a local friend on our visit from Yorkshire

We thought we would give this place a try after hearing several great comments about it! Really glad we did! Excellent quality food, beautifully presented and everything tasted amazing! Really represented great value for money. Likewise, the more than adequate wine list was also reasonably priced. The service was genuinely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. A return visit is guaranteed!
