We found Txango via Trip Advisor, thanks for the heads up! Great restaurant, service & food. No you donât get sea views at Txango but what you do get is great food & if you are up to it, a healthy walk down to the sea afterwards. Even though weather wasnât great we were able to sit outside which was nice. We chose the 10 tapas (each) which were wonderful, a great selection. For dessert we shared the Basque Tiramasu with cherries which was excellent!

Having read the reviews on trip advisor about this little place, we looked forward to eating there with anticipation, the restaurant itself is small, homely and your made to feel very welcome. If we are honest the food did not live up to our expectations, we found some courses bland and uninspired which in itself is quite a critical comment but we say things as we see them or in this case eat them. We found our experience here very 'rushed' as soon as they took one dish away the next course arrived without giving us chance to take a breath, i think all in all we had three courses and a bottle of wine and a G&T and where in and out within an hour and a half, which is very unknown for us. We also felt that the price was a little steep both for the wine and the food considering the quality of what we actually got, we come to Bidart every single year and know far more superior places to eat at a fraction of the price. It's a shame but we will not be making a return visit to L'antre next year.

We ate here twice during our stay in Guethary (and probably would have gone again but they shut for 4 days at the end of the season). Unpretentious but delicious, inventive gastronomic cuisine. Friendly and welcoming staff and amazing chef (who is World runner up for his famous Pate en Croute). Loved the duck with truffle flakes, marinaded tuna, pate en Croute, poisson maigre & fish stew with consomme. Yum! Don't miss this if you're in the region - we'll be going back!
