We never order take outs from any other chinese, so after months we were glad the the China Room was reopening.My partner phoned through the order of sweet and sour chicken and a chicken chow mein, which we collected approx 25 mins later. Unfortunately when we got home, instead of chicken chow mein, my partner had been given a tub of soft noodles. We rang the restaurant to tell them of their error, the young lady was quite rude but did agree to replace the meal. We went and collected the replacement shortly after, however they only replace the one meal, so by time we had got home, my sweet and sour was cold and inedible.I did email the restaurant to tell them of my dissatisfaction, unfortunately we have not had a reply. Such a shame.Hi , i am sorry you had this experience ,unfortunately we havenât received any E mail regarding this . However on occasions we do make mistakes and will be looked into .I will gladly replace your complete order on your next visit . Ask for Stephen , owner The China room

Since my last review yet again we have been back several times in the last two month. On two of these occasions we have introduced this gem of a place to our friends who thoroughly enjoyed their visit. The early banquet is always excellent and great great value. Last Saturday we had chicken & sweetcorn soup, crispy duck and shared shredded chilli chicken - pork fried rice all served timely and deliciously hot. Ice cream for afters accompanied with a bottle of house red. Everyone is always friendly and deliver great customer service hence we always recommend and come back.

Stopped here for a easy meal after traveling all day as our normal takeaway doesn't open Sunday's. Salt and pepper wings, duck, special fried rice and Thai king prawns. All food tasted ok but later that evening the girlfriend and I started to feel sick. Myself spending all of that night and some of the next day being sick and the girlfriend who is still suffering almost 24 hours later with sickness and stomach cramps. I have just spoke to the staff about this and was given a full refund. The staff assured me that they have a food hygiene rating of 4/5 but this isn't on display because there is no space in the window.. it's a very empty window. The staff also keen to find out what our address was asking a number of times for the door number then tuck a few random guesses of the door number themselves.. found that a little strange!Unfortunately rating as 0 stars is not a options so it's a 1 but other than being refunded we can't recommend
