When we travel we like to seek out independent small restaurants with good ethnic food that attracts the locals. Sichuan Palace certainly qualifies. Unfamiliar with the area, we looked for the location in daylight, in a small shopping center in central Chelmsford (almost next door to Madras Grill), and after receiving a hearty "thumbs up" from a patron, we decided to take a menu with us back to the hotel and peruse the possibilities (and there were many possibilities.) We finally decided to try the dry tea-smoked duck when we returned that evening; a plate entirely new to us. Listed as "two chilies" of hotness, we asked if it could be toned down to one, and the result was just the right amount of heat for our palates. The duck was tender and moist inside, with a crunchy, delicious skin. We enjoyed it with a bowl of white rice, and complimentary tea. Prices were very fair, servings generous, the setting neat, clean and comfortable, the service pleasant and efficient. Most patrons were local Asians, clearly enjoying their meals and conversations. We look forward to a return meal sometime soon.

Lunch here recently was very good. The house special rice was plentiful and tasty. Beef teriyaki was tender, egg roll was crisp and fresh. The fried shrimp were huge and sweet and the sour chicken was yummy. Lots of parking and service was friendly. A very nice option

Taste Quality Style. Feng Shui Kitchen, a balance between Chinese and Sushi cuisines, are dedicated to the local communities with the best food delivered.
I agree it was a busy night. We were greeted cordially. But the pleasantness should not have ended there. The waiter was rude and in a hurry. When asked what kind of rice was served with entrees, the answer was ânone.â This was unusual because I have been to many Chinese restaurants and white rice......or a choice is always served.Shrimp with cashews and Lo mein were ordered and served. The food was served cold. Considering the attitude of the server, it was easier to take it home to reheat. So thatâs what we did.

I beg to differ with the last reviewer whose generosity got the best of him in his accolades for this place. After all, 95% of his reviews are either very good or excellent. For me, Beijing Tokyo does not deserve anything close to five stars nor would I even hint that itâs anywhere close to being the best Chinese restaurant in Acton. It might actually be the worst. After such a long, drawn out renovation period and highly anticipated opening, Beijing Tokyo has finally appeared, at least in the eyes of Cherry Wonderdog, with a whimper. At most, this is a three star restaurant, but it clearly has issues, and I sincerely hope they get worked out fast or else weâre going to have to witness yet another closing. Thereâs a reason why Beijing Tokyoâs lunch traffic is abysmal, and itâs not because the restaurant is new. Itâs because everything here is mediocre. And as such, it merits three stars. For starters, itâs hard to tell what kind of restaurant Beijing Tokyo wants to be. Is it Chinese with a Japanese flair or is mostly Japanese that gives lip service to the Chinese diner? Clearly thereâs an identity crisis, and instead of the restaurant marrying the two as the best of both worlds like other dual ethnic restaurants, the two seem to be in conflict. Chinese food does seem to get the shaft here, as no soup is served with a Chinese luncheon whereas miso is served for a Japanese one. Someone better advise management that soup is a staple in almost every single Chinese luncheon so if youâre not going to serve it, you better deliver something outstanding instead. Unfortunately, that just didnât happen. Our chicken with mixed vegetables and chicken with ginger and scallions luncheons were just okay, accompanied by (warm, not hot) fried rice that was supposedly Japanese (go figure!) along with an eggroll / beef stick. The plates were designed to deliver as much sauce for these appetizers as I would have expected soup. In addition, this was the first time that I can remember that I actually resorted to kikkoman soy sauce to add a bit of kick to my meal. There was nothing else offered -- no mints, no orange slices, no fortune cookies. For $9, ($10 for beef, $11 for shrimp), and another $3.50 to add soup, it felt overpriced. The atmosphere are Beijing Tokyo was dark, dreary, and even a bit uncomfortable. There were several waiters who were sitting around without much to do -- some staring at us eat. When ours took our order and later served the meals, she seemed completely new, out of sorts, and untrained for the job. As for the dining room, there were no decorations on the wall, nothing to suggest that this was either a Japanese or Chinese restaurant besides one picture in the back. Even the placemats were depressing -- just a plain white piece of paper. And rather than Asian music, there was this intrusive, piped-in pop/rap from recent teeny bopper artists that I might have expected to hear in a college dorm. It was totally inappropriate here and a huge turnoff. For me, Beijing Tokyo has tried and failed (at least after its first month) in introducing a hipster approach to Americanized Asian food. I wish places like this would stick to the basics and try to differentiate themselves on what comes out of the kitchen instead of playing around with the basics like value, ambiance, and customary deliverables. After all, weâre talking about Chinese and Japanese food in Acton, and there are other choices such as Ginger Court where this isnât an issue.

My husband and I are older and we have avoided eating at asian restaurants because I have a sesame allergy. We watched TAKA develop from an empty shell to an attractive restaurant and decided to try it. Our waiter was very careful to explain ingredients as we ordered. We chose a âsizzling mongolian platterâ. It featured beef, chicken and shrimp with broccoli, mushrooms, and other vegetables. We ordered a rice dish to accompany it. We were very happy with our choice although initially we thought it was rather small. The dish won us at first bite. The food was beautifully cooked, succulent and tender, and the rice was excellent. We shared the shrimp, he ate beef, I ate chicken, we both enjoyed the vegetables. It was wonderful to be satisfyingly full with no leftovers. I hate doggy bags, I loved not hauling little boxes home to throw out in 3 days. It was terrific to find proportions that worked for the smaller appetite. We obviously could have ordered many other items but Iâm so glad we didnât. Now we can go back and work our way through the many offerings at our leisure, try gorgeous sushi with our daughters or come with family to enjoy the hibachi meal as well.

Friends were visiting and requested Chinese. While Yangtze is about 20 miles from home, they always served a good meal. So off we went. About 20 minutes we arrived about 12:30. As were seated, we passed a great looking buffet with two full table of delicious items.Once seated we looked at the menu and inquired about the buffet. Being informed the lunch buffet was only $9.95 we all chose buffet with soup and endless hot tea. I cant begin to describe how many item were chosen, but everyone had their fill and kept going back. I was very pleased to find Yangtze, still serving great Chinese.
We were looking for quality Thai food and tried this restaurant that recently opened in Westford. The Pad Thai is excellent with great flavor and cooked to perfection. The homemade peanut sauce served with the chicken satay was flavorful and served with four generous skewers of chicken. Another treat is the ginger flavored Gyoza. The interior very basic having replaced a local deli, but the service is friendly and helpful. Great for good quality food and inexpensive takeout.

I'm surprised that there aren't more reviews for this place. I have been buying from Ginger Tree for many years. It's basically an Asian fast food restaurant except the food really tastes good. This is a take-out establishment only. Their service is excellent which means their orders are prepared quickly and are ready when they say it will be (or even sooner). Usually, it takes 10-15 minutes from the time you call or, better yet, you can now order from them online and tell them what time you want to pick it up! You can also add comments like "please make this dish 1 pepper hot". Finally, you can choose to pay online or in the store. And don't forget to tip them - they work really hard at Ginger Tree!

This restaurant is off the beaten path but not far at all from route 495. It was very busy yesterday for lunch (Friday). No wonder!! The interior is elegant, food is hot and fantastic, lots of choices at the buffet, vegetarian too. Ashlyn, our server, was perfect. No rush, checked on us often. Will definitely be back, especially how she explained that choices differ daily for their luncheon buffet and how the Sunday buffet (more expensive) has crab legs and more upscale food. Love it and can't wait to go back.
