Things to do in Toccoa
Husband and I have only gotten takeout from China Lin. Everything (with the exception of Hot and Sour Soup) is excellent. We usually call ahead to order, or if in Toccoa, we run by and order it, then cruise around the downtown area. There was one time that we called and ordered around 3:30 or 4 on a weekday. Someone must have called in sick because we ended up waiting an additional 30 minutes for our food. Everybody has an off day. Weâve been back since then, so that must tell you the food is good. Weâve had steamed dumplings, Egg Foo Yung, Mongolian Chicken, and their Spa Cuisine Chicken (all steamed with lots of good veggies ). Inside is not a lot to write home about, but we always take out anyway. Give China Lin a try!

Hubs and I decided to check out Asia House today for Sunday lunch. I want to tell you right up front: the reason Iâm not awarding 5âï¸ is because of the ambianceâwe were seated at a large table for at least eight people. It was in the back, near the door to the kitchen. We didnât want a booth and no other tables were available. AH has an extensive menu. The sushi special was a bit confusing and should be edited. Since this was our first visit, we decided to order a variety of things. We each got hot and sour soup (Tiffany divided the portion into two small bowls.). It was typical. Tasty with that touch of sour we really like. We also shared a saladâsimilar to what youâd get at a Japanese restaurant (ginger dressing on iceberg with cukes, cherry tomatoes, carrot). We shared BoomBoom Shrimp. Fried shrimp with the yum yum sauce on the side. We expected it to be spicy and marinated in the sauce. Pretty goodâ-wouldnât order it again. Iâve saved the best for last. We shared a tuna roll. Delicious! The fish was very fresh. Delightful! We also ordered what we thought was an appetizer portion of chicken/lettuce wraps. We couldnât believe how huge the plate was! The filling was so good. They also served it with a half head of iceberg for DIY wraps! Itâs enough for us to share for supper tonight. And the sauce?? Just WOW! We will definitely go back to try more sushi, for sure. Maybe weâll even share a combo plate!

We went to a nearby store and asked about the restaurant while we were there. We were advised it was not good and not very clean but person had been there three months ago, so we took a chance. We looked inside and for the most part it looked clean. Nice selection of foods and the people were friendly. That is where it stops. It was the worst asian/chinese food we have ever had. We were there on a Saturday for lunch. As my granddaddy used to say, "Take a look around cuz we won't be back". We won't. And that is a shame because people were nice.
