I would like to share my latest experience in dining at Rumah Makan Permata two weeks ago. FYI, this restaurant is one of our favorite restaurants to visit in Semarang whenever we have special guests, function or even for family gathering. This time, I decided to visit this restaurant for lunch as my younger brother will leave for his hometown in the afternoon. Usually, I visit this place for diner during weekend and usually this restaurant is fully pack with regular guests. However, surprisingly when we both arrived in the restaurant, we say three big tables had been occupied with at least 30 guests. I guess this place is very popular among those who enjoy fine quality Chinese food. As usual, we both ordered burung dara goreng (fried pigeon) and gurami asam manis (sweet & sour carp) which we did both enjoy.FYI, I've been visiting this restaurant on regular basis since 2006 and I never have any doubt at all that this is successfully position themselves in the top three Chinese restaurants in town despite the fact there are other (newer) restaurants open for business in the past few years but the food quality they are serving is difficult to be replaced by newcomers. Therefore, I have no hesitation to recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for top quality Chinese food whenever they visit Semarang in the near future.

Re-opened after are rather long and arduous renovation. We ate at the Japanese, and really enjoyed excellent service and food. I don't think the renovation was really necessary. However, the owner does need to invest in his people. Prior to the renovation, service quality and food not that great. Hopefully the newly re-opened S2 is an investment in people as well as property. If so, the she will rightly climb to the top #10 in Semarang.

The best chinese restaurant in Semarang ~ no doubt. We love the porridge, dim sum, Chinese tea. Unfortunately the water tap in the toilet was not running well.

It was a good place to have a meal with your family, friends or your partner. The food was amazing but I think their chilli sauces should be spicier and it will makes everything perfect.

Eagerly to try the dishes in here, we come really lat at 3.00 PM. Because of Sunday, most of the menu was sold out. But for the asem-asem, the still have it. It was an old fashioned style of stall. Some L big tables, while the waiters working inside. Many jar and display snack arround the tables.Traditional recipe and really genuine from the ancestors. Made this restaurant really worth to be visited. Non halal restaurant.
