Great inexpensive place for someone starving due to "hotel and conference food"Escaped the conference dinner with a friend. We went to this restaurant, observed that locals (Chinese speakers) ate here too. The menu and wait staff was bilingual.I had the shredded pork with vegetables and I ate the whole thing. The pork was tender and flavorful. It didn't have the standard overloaded oyster brown sauce.

The service and quality of food here is pretty good, especially if you like roast duck and BBQ pork that is fresh and tasty. We also had tofu with cabbage, sweet sour chicken, fried rice, Chinese broccoli, beef lowmein, which all were tasty. Being from out of state, this place was not an easy place to find. Must be a hidden gem.

Incredible flavor and even better service! I tihnk if you want authentic Asian flavoring, this is the place to go! The owners are Tibetan and their culture is blended in with every dish. The afternoon lunch buffet is simply amazing! for dinner there isn't anything on the menu that will dissappoint. The best thing to do is ask questions for the first time. I had a dish that sounded interesting but it didn;t make any sense. The server was most helpful and the food beyond compare. i don't normally give five-stars to any restaurant but this one definately deserve five or more stars.

Far East is a great little restaurant in Shakopee. We got takeout. The Egg Rolls were very good and the steamed dumplings outstanding! The entrées were certainly the best of the meal. Mongolian Beef and General Tso Chicken were just awesome! Definitely give this place a try and you will absolutely see the high quality of food compared to your typical Chinese restaurant.

I hadn't been there in a while, but I placed a take-out order after work not long ago. Their house chow mein is wonderful (chicken, pork and shrimp meats with regular chow mein ingredients). While I prefer the soft noodles, the chunchy noodles are okay, too. The large size is reasonably priced and makes several meals.
Leeann Chin herself wouldn't like this food. Another case of a good restaurant losing a lot when turned into a franchise operation. Entrees are on a steam table, often far too long.

The lunch menu seemed to be more of a Chinese/American restaurant. Lomeins, curries, sweet and sours, ginger dishes, and chow mein. Not really near what I found in Viet Nam 18 months ago. Service was fine, the place was clean and comfortable as one would expect, but it lacked any feel or flavor of Viet Nam. The lunch menu offers a broad selection of the above dishes with chicken, pork, tofu, beef, and mock duck -- 1 appetizer selection (egg roll, chicken wings, or wontons), 1 entree, white or fried rice, and a Sugar Roll. When I asked about the Sugar Roll I was simply told "We don't have those."

We get take out from here from time to time and they have really yummy chicken in their lemon chicken. Nicely friend crispy half breast chicken with perfectly steamed rice. The rest of their food is fairly standard, but if you're in the mood for take out in the area, you could do worse (at fongs).

Tucked back in the corner of a strip mall is the Asian Bowl. Before ordering I went in to talk to the owner and to find out what was on the menu. i was impressed with the owner and her broken attempt at English. That lead me to believe the food was authentic. The following day I ordered curried beef and it was five-star plus! Three days later I ordered again and about a week later I ordered again from the Asian Bowl.Consider this a takeout establishment but they do have two tables set off to one side. The quality of the food there puts other Asian restaurants to shame and the prices are more than reasonable. While a little difficult to find, it is well worth the effort.

Family owned Chinese Restaurant serving Savage and surrounding area since 1996. The owner, David Fong Jr., carries on the tradition of great food and service started by his parents in Bloomington in 1958 (David Fong's Restaurant). D. Fong's Specializes in
We were busy packing up mom for her move and were looking for some take out we could get on the way back from making a drop of items at Goodwill. A quick Yelp search found this place. Mom and dad used to go to David Fongs in Bloomington for years when they lived up there. Anyway, at first the menu looked like most take out Chinese places but the cook to order Chow Mein caught my eye. The Fongs cooked to order Chow Mein with shrimp and chicken was delicious. Lots of chicken and shrimp with crunchy veggies in a yummy sauce. It wasn't the usual brown sauce I associate with chow mein. It was soooo much better than I expected. Lots of awesome flavor. Mom got the chicken almond. It had a lot of chicken, crunchy veggies and not that much celery. Some places overload it with celery but not D Fongs! The egg rolls had good flavor as did the pot stickers. The cream cheese puffs/wontons were good and am guessing they'd be even better hot out of the oven and not sitting in a take out bag for a few minutes. The restaurant itself looked clean, it ha a few people in there after the lunch rush. The cashier was friendly, gave us plates and plastic flatware to use since mom's was packed already. I just wish I would have found this place before mom was moving as we would have gotten more food from there.Thank you Kaj for your very detailed and wonderful review!! Iâm so happy that you enjoyed everything and that we were able to make your Momâs move easier. We look forward to serving you more delicious meals next time you are in the area!!Sincerely David JrOwner
