Remember the Cantonese Chinese restaurants serving pseudo-Chinese food back in the late 1960's. Before Szechuan, Hunan and other regional cuisines were introduced into the US, Chinese food meant "Chop Suey" (not actually Chinese), Chow Mein (not actually Chinese) and other greasy, salty and uninspiring dishes. If you miss that type of food, this is the place for you
We've been going here for years and I thought I'd share one of the best Chinese in Salem. Their prices are reasonable and portions plenty. The plates are great for sharing.

They renovated the restaurant and it looks great! It was a bit dated but now it's beautiful. The bar area has been opened up a lot and the best part (in my opinion) is that they have added sushi! They have a sushi chef that makes it fresh and it's amazing :) I have always loved the chinese food here but now that they serve fresh made sushi I am really REALLY happy! My hubby doesn't care for it so we can both have what we want...

This was our first time trying Yang Ming since we used to go to Chief Wok out of convenience. The food at Yang Ming was pretty good (takeout). We tried the Beef with Broccoli, the Lemongrass Chicken, and the Vegetable Egg Foo Yong. The food was delivered hot and for the most part, it tasted pretty fresh. Not sure it's the best Chinese food we've ever had, but for Salem, NH it was good.
