Reviews on Chinese food in Romford, England, United Kingdom. Romford is a large town in east London, and the administrative centre of the London Borough of Havering. It is located 14.1 miles (22.7 km) northeast of Charing Cross and is one of the major metropolitan centres identified in the London Plan. It was historically a market town in the county of Essex and formed the administrative centre of the liberty of Havering, until it was dissolved in 1892. Good road links and the opening of the railway station in 1839 were key to the development of the town and the economic history of Romford is underpinned by a shift from agriculture to light industry and then to retail and commerce. As part of the suburban growth of London in the 20th century, Romford significantly expanded and increased in population, becoming a municipal borough in 1937 and has formed part of Greater London since 1965. It now forms one of the largest commercial, retail, entertainment and leisure districts outside central London and has a developed night-time economy.

Great location but wasted as they don't let you use that side of the restaurant during the day. Their excuse was staff would have to run around in both sides - Really! Why have a restaurant with a great view then undersell it. Food was average. My local takeaway can do better. Service; poor

Pleasantly surprised trying Filipino food. I had tried it in Saudi and not been too impressed but the little cafe upstairs in Romford market hall was a big improvement. We had a stir fried mixed veg in shrimp paste with chilies, a fried fish which was marinated possibly in vinegar and a chicken curry. We asked spicy and they added extra spice. Service was efficient and friendly; portions were large and food was tasty.

This is an excellent Chinese restaurant Typical Chinese menu with all the standard dishes you would expect. Not expensive. Very attentive service without being obtrusive. Spotlessly clean. Very comfortable seating but slightly lacking any atmosphere on the wet and windy Sunday evening we were there. Would certainly recommend

Ordered a takeaway as are usual place was shut on a Monday. Was quite a bit more expensive but thought we would give it a go. The meal was not great, rubbery chicken and the meat in the special fried rice was rubbery. We ended up throwing it away. We will not be ordering a takeaway from here again.

Nicely laid out Chinese restaurant but located on a busy roundabout on the Romford ring road so no parking.Large menu with good choice but the set menus make navigation easier.Good though pricey wine list. The house white and red are the best value and are very drinkable.Pleasant and helpful staff.
