Small, cozy restaurant where the original Mongolian BBQ started in Ogden. The food is good (if you still want it after seeing the price). $14 dollars for a single bowl, which is small compared to other places now doing the Mongolian bbq-thing. The price is why I gave it bad marks. The day before I went to another restaurant which had the same thing for half the price, and it was HALF THE PRICE for ALL YOU CAN EAT. There is even a Chinese buffet in a town nearby that has the bbq for less.I definitely will NOT be going back until their prices are cut in half.
We were interested to note that this is now the China Star. Interior is still the same, even the Maple Garden logos are still on the back of each booth. The music was Christmas when we entered, then turned to Hillbilly twang, then pop. The interior is still very nice. Service was very good. Food was tasty in some regards. However, it was not the same as Maple Garden. There are many other Asian cafes in town; most are as good or better. OK, but we know of better.

Wow! Probably some of the best combined Asian food I've had; and, we have a really 'good go to' Chinese at home. The menu shows a lot of Thai; so, at first glimpse, my teenage son was dissapointed. He wants to order the usual orange chicken and, chow mein. He did find these items and, ordered them; crispy chow mein, tho. I decided to peruse the menu more and, order not the typical. I ordered the ginger chicken and, chicken pad thai. White rice was brought out to enjoy with our dishes. All the chicken is white meat; favored. We order dishes and, will request this at other restaraunts. My son's orange chicken came out with the sauce in a dipping bowl; instead of saturating the fried chicken pieces. This style and, the sauce made this typical dish..not typical. His crispy chow mein was exactly that..the crispy noodle; not pan fried - another dish. It had a variety of fresh vegetables in it. My ginger chicken was a small enuff dish that had I ordered alone, might have ordered another for leftovers. It had a few fresh vegetables; I ordered without the bell pepper - not a fan of. My pad thai was not full of ingredients or chunks of the way I usually get - no tofu, shaved green onion, finely chopped peanuts. My son and, I were soo impressed with all dishes. All mouth watering delicious! The sauces and, seasonings with each plate were so full of individual flavors. Way better than what we were expecting. This is a go back for sure!

Came here as a second choice when our restaurant was closed, and was pleasantly surprised! Service was fast and attentive, we ordered two dishes, spicy tofu and General Tso's, and took home three containers of leftovers. General Tso's was all white meat chicken, less breading (good) with a tangy sauce. They seem to have a large take out business, and I'm not surprised. Will return!

First time discovering this gem which will be a return to choice for Asian cuisine. Charming setting on Harrison Blvd; courteous, enthusiastic staff; generous portions; and fantastic taste!

This place has changed massively. I ordered the lemon chicken. There were RAW PIECES. My husband's chicken tasted stale. Definitely not the same quality as I've eaten in the past. The staff was too busy playing on their cell phones behind the fish tank to help customers. It was a VERY disappointing experience

Portions were large & price was very reasonable. We only ordered chinese food, no sushi. They were open on Christmas day. Service was fast and friendly.

We love living in Evanston Wyoming, but invariably there are some things you can get at better prices in "the big city." A friend turned us on to the Family Center at Riverdale, and we now go there once a month for a "big shopping" at Home Depot, Sam's Club, Super Target, etc. One time, I was jonesing for some Chinese food and a gal at Sam's Club recommended the Lucky Buffet. It was certainly a lucky find as it had not only good Chinese food, but a little Japanese food too, including teppan-yaki, and some Americanized sushi selections. The space is very clean and their decor is very soothing and tasteful with etched glass panels and dark wood accents. Their overall selection is huge, and includes some items you don't see every day at a Chinese buffet (at least we don't see 'em!) like mussels, oysters on the half-shell, fried bananas etc. And at $8 inclusive per person, it was definitely "love at first bite!" We've now been there several times and the last time I was a tad disappointed as their sushi chef was slower than molasses getting ready, plus the selection was different than it was last time we were there. I hate mayonnaise, and the sushi items all seemed to contain krab salad and other items laden with the stuff I hate more than anything in the world. Oh well, I made up for it with an extra helping of some delicious coconut shrimp (which, again, you can't always count on them having) and orange chicken. Their buffet price includes dessert, but we always seem to get too full to have any.
