We had dinner at de Oude Plek a few weeks ago. This restaurant is located in one of the southernmost residential neighborhoods of Rotterdam, in walking distance from Lombardijen train station. If you've come here for delicious vegetarian and vegan food, you've found the right place. Don't be put off by the slightly derelict neighborhood, the unattractive exterior, or the butcher next door - this place is totally meat free and offers delicious vegetable meals, made from fresh vegetables, tofu, soy beans, and wheat gluten. The service is very friendly and accomodating to special requests (e.g., gluten-free). People come here all the way from Den Haag or Amsterdam to enjoy fabulous meat-free Chinese meals. Every 3rd Saturday of the month there is an all-you-can-eat buffet dinner. Definitely one of the best dining venues for vegetarians and vegans in Rotterdam!

I'm rating this very good for what it is, a buffer restaurant. It doesn't quite compare to a normal restaurant. IT's a fairly new place behind a KFC and a MacD. Shares the same building as the Fuji chinese place which is listed on tripadvisor seperately.Hygiene seemed quite good and there was almost continuous restocking. Price does include free softdrinks and coffee. Alcoholic drinks you will have to fetch yourself and pay seperately. There's about 40 warm dishes on the buffet as well as cold meats and sea foods. You can get fish and meat grilled for you for which there can be quite a queue. Things I tasted where generally quite good except for the grilled lobsters and crayfish which were massively overcooked, tough and rubbery and the ensis clams which were really sandy. All in all not a bad concept, grab what you like, no waiting for orders, ideal if you're on a budget or with a group including children.

Been here several times with kids & family. Enough place to sit, not to busy during lunch time. Playroom for kids makes things easier ;)Good choice of food, great choice of drinks. enough for everyone. Perfect place to celebrate something with a group of friends or family as you do not need to think about choices and satifying everyone.
We namen de loempia vooraf, deze was nogal vet en voornamelijk gevuld met tauge, en wat ei. Niet voor herhaling vatbaar. Daarna de mihoen met garnalen (6), en groente. Deze was aardig, gelukkig niet vet. Grote hoeveelheid.

We are no lovers of the Wok-concept, but this was a good try and we liked it. Specially the variety of food was great. Highly meat orientated: lambsrack, few kinds of beef, even kangaroo etc. All from the grill. But also sushi made in front of your eyes. And of course the real wok dishes, we liked the szechuan sauce and the Thai sauce. Countles kinds of deserts, free beer and wine. Downside was that some of the european dishes were blend because they were heated in trays. But you don't compe for french fries here. Very kind service, but of course a total do-it-yourself concept. We call it a foodbarn, but we liked it this time.

Last Saturday had dinner here with my sisters. The food was excellent tonite: the fish filet, the paksoy, the peking duck, and so much more, were really tasty, and delicious. One thing that would have improved our dinner experience: the crying baby next to us was so loud, we hardly could understand eachother.
