After trying the Star House Family Restaurant with its simple decor and food and feeling rather disappointed, I loved the ambiance and food of this restaurant. Decor was more appealing and the food with its varied selection was vivid and delectable.

Seated quickly. Staff pleasant and friendly. Food selection was very average. Some selections had been sitting for a while but the deserts were good. The price was excellent and the atmosphere was very basic. With a little more attention to the buffet items, this could be a better than average place.

Thats what I was told and had no reason to disagree. Great fries and gravy! Also told they have the best cream pies (okay I thought I'd try a banana cream...mmmm....I still remember the taste) and their chinese food is good too. The restaurant and same owners have been around forever, and it looks it, so not much ambience, but good food.

They offer sushi and those vietnamese fresh salad rolls. These items were good. The pyrogies, mash potatoes, Salisbury steaks and corn were what you would expect from a local restaurant, but I did not try any of these staples. The noodles were plain, the lemon chicken was okay, but there was nothing really outstanding. But it is reasonably priced. As mentioned in my title, I could hear a train approaching. It was getting very loud. I had not noticed that there were rail lines in-bedded into the main street in front of the restaurant and CN freight trains roll through here often enough that no one else even looked up. I cannot recall ever seeing anything like that before! That made it memorable. I see some previous people said the management is new, but if it is, the paint on the walls is not. Considering where you are, this may be one of your better bets.

I ordered shrimp salad rolls and diced vegetables with chicken. The vegetables with chicken was amazing; however, I think there can be a few changes on the shrimp salad rolls. It's the first time I see anyone put cucumbers in the rice paper wraps, and to be honest, I think the cucumbers should stay out of it. The peanut sauce would also be better if it's a bit thicker.
