It's been a few years since I last reviewed Wah Wing. Our family's favourite "GO TO' restaurant: young and old all say: "Let's go to Wah Wing!"Recently on the occasion of a big birthday ...one where the '9' turns into a ZERO... a dozen of us celebrated at WAH WING.in all the years, never had a poor experience here, always a warm welcome, top service, cheerful, nothing is too difficult, comfortable, clean great VALUE and TOP chef in the genre. On the night: we all ordered our fave dishes, so we had PLENTY, enough to send the young ones home with doggy bags.ALL dishes were REALLY DELICIOUS, my fave on the day, ordered by by nephew was the ginger beef = outstanding !I ordered the pea shoot stir fry...in season & WONDERFULLY cooked, as recommended by our excellent servers. they are without exception, a top crew.We ordered many dishes & no one uttered a negative on any choices. This CONSISTENCY in excellence has been a hallmark of the Wah Wing experience.Whether it's a banquet or just a quick lunch = top quality /value.Our thanks to management and staff of Wah Wing for the many years of happy dining out.Highest marks in ALL categories.Highest recommendations we can give.

Yesterday I went with friends for Dim Sum to the âKam Ding Seafood Restaurantâ in Coquitlam. We ordered Beef Tendon with Potatoes, Beef Tripe, Ground Beef Balls, Shrimp Spring Rolls, Shrimp Dumplings, Scallop Rice Rolls, Home Style Chow Mein, Mango Pudding and Black Sesame Balls. Most of the dishes tasted ok. But while the taste of Scallop Rice Rolls was better than I ate just a week ago at another restaurant, the scallops in them tasted old. The Home Style Chow Mein was extremely salty. And the Mango Pudding tasted quite artificial; other restaurants do it better, with real mango. The price was a bit lower than the average for Dim Sum.Generally, I was not so impressed by the quality. There is nothing special that appealed to me. But it was also not so bad that I would avoid that restaurant.

Iâve gone here with friends, family, and on a date. You will not find more authentic food. The service is exactly what youâd get at a Chinese restaurant, but youâre not here for the service youâre here for the food. You need to know what youâre ordering because they got some weird authentic stuff, but they got great stuff too. Order the Shanghai Dumplings, theyâre the best. Itâs so good.

The good: clean Chinese restaurant...an oxymoron? The waitress was patient, friendly and attentive. The menu reads like a never ending picture book! Dishes are a mix between east and west ( an oriental place that serves borscht????)Flavour - don't order the noodle in soup; the soup is MSG heavy as I reacted right away. They charge u $2 extra if u want better meat in it!- noodle dish was average at best...for $13 or so..I expected a bit more meat and veggies.Value- not sure if I would consider getting value out of our meal.Portions- not bad...but if you aren't fulfilled ...what's the point? If you must eat here...the $16 combo platters may be a better choice.

This place is definitely NOT "Gourmet" My wife and I were in Port Moody helping her mother put up Christmas decorations and decided to order take out from this restaurant. The online menu did not appear to offer much for vegetarians so I decided to try my luck and just go to the restaurant and order there for take out. It was a Friday evening and the place was almost empty. I went to the counter and picked up a menu. One of the staff was quite helpful and agreed to have the kitchen make up a couple of veggie dishes for me. It was at this time I noticed one of the other staff members seemed to be quite ill. The poor girl could not stop coughing, and looked like she was feeling terrible. She was coughing and coughing, then going from behind the counter out to the dining area and attending to the few customers in the place. At one point I saw her come out from the kitchen with a plate of food, put the food down on the counter and proceed to blow her nose, then pick up the plate and take it to a table. I considered just leaving, but then the other server came out with my bagged order so i payed and left. The food was hot but extremely bland and tasteless. Rice, Chow Mien and Chop Suey all had absolutely no flavour whatsoever. The green beans were ok. Overall very disappointed. A waste of money and time. I'll never return to this restaurant.

After some early shopping âhere & thereâ this morning, it was off to Port Moody for another lunch at âLougheed Wontonâ. We (threesome) arrived about 11 am, and were able to find free on-the-street parking within the block outside the restaurant. Everything was good to go, including our appetites!Service started with âHi, nice to see you againâ upon entering the restaurant, very friendly/helpful when ordering, and throughout our stay. Initial service of hot tea came quickly after menus were placed on our table, and the pot was kept hot & full during our meal. Ordered dishes came from kitchen to table in a nice, and timely manner. What was ordered:- from the âdim sum menuâ â prawn dumplings.- from the âChefâs lunch specialsâ â wonton soup, sweet & sour boneless pork, spicy salt & pepper squid, and sauteed green beans w/beef.Decent presentations, and again, some excellent preparations â quality ingredients, nothing âoverly-preparedâ, subtle, but very distinctive flavours, and tastes. And excellent value - well-sized portions, and nicely-priced (specials were $8.95/ea). Once again, âLougheed Wontonâ provided a fine, fun, and very much-enjoyed dining experience.
