Reviews on Chinese food in Pocatello, Idaho, United States. Surrounded on three sides by snow-capped mountains, Pocatello is a beautiful small city in the heart of eastern Idaho. The unspoiled wilderness in and around the city is perfect for cross country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter or hiking and biking in the summer. The Pontneuf River Greenway running through town is popular for jogging and strolling in warmer climes. For a more cultured vacation, try any of the city's theaters, dinner museums or outdoor bandshells for live entertainment.

This isn't my family's favorite Chinese restaurant, but I will say that when we were tired of Mandarin, Bamboo Garden, and Chang's or Chopsticks or Ming's. We would come to this place but it isn't that unique to any of the other ones.

Sure we just got a Panda Express, but THIS is the place for Chinese food in a hurry. Revolving menu so certain dishes change day-to-day but the favorites are always there. I like that they serve a broad spectrum of Asian dishes; from teriyaki chicken, to Thai chicken, to Filipino adobo, to sweet and sour, there's great variety. My only gripe is that they're only open M-F from 11-7 so I can't easily swing by for dinner!

We ate here on a Monday night and it was about 1/3rd full. The food was always hot and fresh and they kept every dish stocked up perfectly. Even the 3 different shrimp dishes were always full. I enjoyed everything I tried except for the yolk dumplings and the (huge) eggroll.

You will feel like family dining at this lovely establishment. The food is the best, try ordering the honey walnut shrimp. The service is the best you will get in Pocatello. The atmosphere is relaxing and intimate. A must stop eatery when you go through town.

We ordered from the lunch menu which lasts all day long. I had the steamed chicken, cashew, vegetable plate with fried rice and it was fantastic. Another person in our group ordered the steamed chicken and vegetables with fried rice and they devoured it. Everyone from our group had steamed chicken with some type of vegetables and fried rice and enjoyed their meal. We will definitely go back next time we are in Pocatello. Service was good, restaurant was clean and the price was certainly reasonable.

This restaurant reinforces my prior experiences. Having grown up in NYC there are very few places - especially in smaller cities - where I have ever had excellent Chinese food. Chang's was better than many but objectively still mediocre. The chef tried to add some curry to a sliced beef and snow pea dish and failed. The vegetable plate was adequate. General Tso's chicken was tasty but excessively breaded and the sauce a bit cloying. The hot and sour soup tasted as good as anyone's and better than most but was not "hot".
