Reviews on Chinese food in Phitsanulok, Phitsanulok Province, Thailand. Phitsanulok (Thai: พิษณุโลก, pronounced [pʰít.sā.nú.lôːk], also locally known as Pilok) is an important, historic city in lower northern Thailand and is the capital of Phitsanulok Province, which stretches all the way to the Laotian border. Phitsanulok is one of the oldest cities in Thailand, founded over 600 years ago. It is best known as the birthplace of King Naresuan, who freed the country from Burmese domination in the late 16th century, and that of his brother and successor King Ekathosarot (Sanphet III). As the crossroad between the northern and central regions of the country, it has long been important both for political and strategic reasons, and was fought over many times in centuries past. Phitsanulok was the capital of Thailand for 25 years during the reign of King Boromma Trailokanat of Ayutthaya. On the banks of the Nan River, the city was originally a small Khmer outpost known as Song Kwae, before the Khwae Noi River changed its course in the 11th century CE. Phitsanulok was also a provincial center of the Angkorian Empire during the Angkorian period. Phitsanulok is home to Naresuan University and Pibulsongkram Rajabhat University, as well as to a major Royal Thai Army base.

Krua Restaurant: We do believe in selecting ingredients and recipes. Thus we just don't serve you only food but the best quality as we can.
This restaurant is supposedly one of the best at Phitsanulok. The decor is modern (not posh) and the menu offering is diverse. I personally find the Thai Food (green curry) rather unauthentic but suffices enough. There is free wifi. However the waiter looked more like a bouncer than a service personnel. Rather poor at anticipating needs ....The pricing is reasonable but pricey by local standards. It is not a restaurant I will be dying to return....
Best Asian food near Phitsanulok, Phitsanulok Province, Thailand
I visited this restaurant twice during my recent stay in Philuck. Both food quality and presentation is very good.Staff lack knowledge of English but everything works out well in the end.Small size portions are more than enough for two.Fish and vegetables very well cooked but avoid the mixed cold starter being mainly not very Chinese pork dishes.Very good value for high quality food

The Hot Pot restaurant in Phitsanulok is in the Topland shopping center, on the 4th floor, next to the Topland Hotel. It is a chain restaurant specializing in Chinese Hot Pot. It is a fast-food style similar to dining inside a Burger King, except that each table has a Hot Pot plate in the middle of it. The selections were few, the portions small, and did not resemble the pictures at all. The waitress helped us start up the hot pot, but then left without a word and we were on our own. In China, the wait staff was always eager to help us cook the hot pot as well. Not bad food, and nice to have a chance to do hot pot, which we like, but really, if you have other options, this is really just a place to eat if you happen to be in the shopping center already.
