Oroville is the county seat of Butte County, California, United States. The population was 15,506 at the 2010 census, up from 13,004 in the 2000 census. When I lived in Oroville this was my go to place eat. Authentic chinese food and restuarant has been there since 1922. Huge portions, great prices, and great food. Always have a take home box even for lunch. As good as any San Francisco restaurant.

We discovered Lucky Jin because we had become increasingly disappointed with Tong Fong Low here in town. We absolutely love Lucky Jin's sweet and sour pork or chicken, as well as their chicken chow mein and cashew chicken chow mein. I would give them 5 stars, but being a lover of iced tea, I do not care for what they serve. We intend to continue to patronize Lucky Jin for as long as they serve the good food that they do. They also appear to do a good take-out business.

We've been waiting for many months for this place to open. The two local casinos both have buffets--the one at Gold Country is excellent. But this is the only oriental oriented one and it is offering Americanized versions of Chinese, Japanese and Mong food.There is a sushi table but the offerings are very odd, not at all traditional in flavors and the rolls are very thick making each much larger than bite size and difficult to manage without them falling apart. The prices are about the same at the really excellent similar buffet in Chico about 30 miles away--about $9 for lunch with a 10% senior discount available if you ask. Drinks are NOT included in the prices. Dinner and meals on Saturday and Sunday are $13.There is a pretty good selection considering the place is small and space limited. They have some desserts but the salad bar has basically nothing on it. The service was friendly for seating but horrible at the table once drinks were delivered--no one was available to refill drinks or for anything else once the drinks came. No one ever came to the table again. We had to ask several times for the check. We came on a warm summer day and there was no air conditioning so the place was too warm inside. The decoration is very plain(it just opened). The food selection was ok and taste ok although a number of dishes are prepared in ways that were unexpected. Trays were often empty and replaced very slowly or not at all. Although it is some distance away, in the future we will continue to drive the extra 30 miles each way to Chico to eat at Kwandos although we like to support local Oroville businesses when we can. Our local government works really had to stop any new businesses from opening here in Oroville or makes the effort crazy expensive and difficult so we like to counter that when possible.
