What a disappointing experience. The Restaurant looks brilliant but is severely let down by poor quality food that is unappetizing. Soup chicken and sweetcorn a mash of water ( not chicken stock) corn and minute amount of minced chicken covered up with sugar. Disgusting. Fish lakota passable. Grilled peppers lamb brought to the table with over cooked lamb that was brought to the table frying on a sizzling plate frying. Lamb tough and untested. Tikka masala dry chicken poorly marinated and over cooked with masala sauce poured over. Didn't even manage to cook nan bread properly. Waiter stated manager not available to complain to. Would recommend people stay away from this place it is poor on all counts service and food

I visited this Chinese restaurant by chance this week and I'm very glad I did. The decor was great and the staff, all of them, very friendly and helpful. The food however was even better! I chose prawn balls to start and duck in plum sauce with egg fried rice as a main. It all arrived quickly, was beautifully presented and tasted devine. I can only recommend that if you're in Oban you give them a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

We went with friends to China Restaurant, opposite Oban Distillery and my husband who is not a great lover of Asian food wrote this in an email to our friends.".A thoroughly enjoyable experience although it has probably put me off Chinese food forever , for the reason that nothing could match the excellence of what we enjoyed with you".The food was just so good,, we started with prawn and sesame toasts and the prawn filling was so lavish and melt in the mouth, then we had Chow Mein, my husband had the duck which was just so tender and full of flavour and three of us had the special which was also so flavousome . We will certainly go back on our next trip to Oban.
