Located in an unassuming strip mall in the tiny town of New Market, MD, the Asian Bistro is a wonderful surprise! My husband and I stopped in for lunch on a weekday. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately. I ordered the basil shrimp with mixed vegetables and my husband ordered basil beef with mixed vegetables. A wonderful bowl of yummy miso soup came out first followed by our entrees. Each dish was delicious and generous. My husband also enjoyed his warm sake. Our service was excellent. Highly recommend!

Visited this place last week while in Monrovia, MD. I ordered the Kung Pao Combination and I have to say it was awful. The spice is off and the tiny chicken pieces which are coated in a batter were nasty. The chewy chicken pieces tasted like all the trimmings of cartilage waste of the chicken and where was the chicken. The spice on it was awful and not like kung pao. Some of the celery was blackened or old. The oil it was cooked in tasted rancid too. I would avoid this place. I realize it is takeout but they have a table set up with chair in there and a sign on the wall (employees only). The other table is filled with their packing supplies (in the entrance). Tells me customers are not important. The young girl who waited on me was on her cell phone. As soon as she gave me her order she sat down in her chair and back on her cell phone. While I stood there asking her for a fork (after all I would have to eat this in my car). She gave me this look like don't bother me and of course I needed a napkin too. Had to ask for this and she made me wait a few minutes until she could find a napkin? What the heck? Horrible..just horrible customer service. Stay away because they do not want customers!

This is the place for excellent Chinese food. A few of my family's favorites are their General Tso's Chicken, pork lomein and excellent pork fried rice, and their white rice is always good too. Our order is always ready for pick up in about 20 minutes and it's always delicious. Although you can dine in, the table service is nothing fancy and they always seem to be a little under staffed for a full dining room. In the many years we have been picking up our meals here, we've eaten inside once and I've never seen more than 2 tables being served at any given time. I would definitely suggest trying everything on the menu at least once. You will be glad you did! And don't forget to see what your fortune cookie says after your meal!
