Montebello (Spanish for beautiful mountain) is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States, located in the southwestern area of the San Gabriel Valley on 8.4 sq mi (22 km) 8 mi (13 km) east of downtown Los Angeles. It is considered part of the Gateway Cities, and is a member of the Gateway Cities Council of Governments. In the early 20th century, Montebello was a well-known source for oil reserves. At the 2010 census, the population was 62,500. The estimated population as of July 1, 2013 was 63,495.

One of our favorite take-out places to eat at when in Montebello is Miki Chan's! It's easy to find (right off the 60/Garfield-Wilcox exit). This place is always busy so always allow plenty of time to get your food! Jen is always there to give you the friendliest, fastest service (and good-size portions)! Out favorite items? Hawaiian chow mein, orange chicken, chicken teri, BBQ pork and green beans! Great comfort food after a hectic day!

Theres plenty of HK style breakfast in the SGV, but this place stands out in the least expected area. Its not like the places where you can sit and catch up with your friends. You share tables with other strangers and are whisked out when you're done eating.Theres plenty of options for brekast. They have a variety of congee and noodles to choose from. The congee is probably the best I've ever had and that might also include Asia. The raw beef congee as well as the lettuce and fish congee is really good. The pineapple bun with butter is a must try. For lunch and dinner, its pretty much the same as other places.

My girl was in the mood for some Chinese food on this rainy night. This old school restaurant had its interior updated but you can tell it still has that decades old character. I ordered my favorite Kung Pao chicken extra spicy, vegetable chow mien, veggie plate, and steamed rice. The food was perfectly flavored and the Kung Pao was nice and spicy because it made my nose runny. The service was friendly and fast, plenty of food to go home with also.

Had a teriyaki chicken bowl. Lots of rice, not much chicken. The teriyaki was spicy rather than sweet. I prefer sweet. The bowl was rather small for the price. This restaurant is in the food court.

We stopped by here on the way back from the Citadel Outlets. Having found it on Yelp we knew it was going to be a canteen style dining experience but the food reviews were really good and prices very reasonable.The food was fresh and flavorful. Given it was freshly prepared I wouldn't call it fast food, but it was well worth the wait! They also have a bakery there and we were given a complimentary cake for desert.Well worth a visit!

Some foods are best left simple, consistently well-prepared and always piping hot when served! Before we moved, my best friend's family used to bring me here back in elementary school. Life changes, people move...but there's something comforting and "filling" about revisiting a place that you dined at back in the 70's! We love the BBQ pork, dumplings, Canton City Lo Mein, and of course, Wendy! Canton City is always busy with their regular customers as well as many who have moved away but always come back! Our next visit back will be in November!

From coast to coast, the dim sum are very similar. I always wish restaurants would be more creative. I was very pleased with the dim sum here. There are so many different selections in addition to the traditional ones. Everything was delicious. The service was great. The waiter always checking my teapot. Empty dishes were removed promptly. This is one of the best dim sum restaurant I have ever been to. I wished I had a bigger stomach so I can try more things. Thumbs up!
