Lucerne is an ancient town with strikingly modern sensibilities. One of Europe’s oldest covered bridges serves as its centerpiece, and fresco-adorned historic houses line the streets, but it’s also home to the cutting-edge KKL, a concert hall and art gallery. Take the cableways up the Pilatus, Stanserhorn or Rigi mountains for breathtaking views, or see Lake Lucerne on a steamship cruise.

Had a great meal with my colleague and the girl name Vicky who was serving us was young and hard working. She speaks fluent Chinese and gives us suggestions to go around Luzern. #1 Chinese restaurant in the town. A must for Chinese food lover.

Our visit to this place is definitely satisfying. The restaurant is more of a tea house with a modern chic design. The host was a very friendly and kind chinese lady. They have a lot of different chinese teas hence the tea menu was thicker than the food menu which was only on 1 page. Although they have limited food choices (dimsum, noodles, dessert) but they are quite delicious. We had ordered a beef noodles (16CHF) with pork dumplings (14CHF). As for the drinks, we had tried their homemade cold rose tea (4.5CHF) and it was quite sweet and refreshing.

I have visited this restaurant for dinner as I was attracted from the beautiful decoration that you can see from outside on my way back home. Very pleasant food and service experience. I will definitely go back. Ambience: very refined and cozy. Beautifully furbished by a Taiwanese interior designer (if I have correctly understood) who has preserved also some of the original features. Silk lanterns, fresh orchids and candle light make it a perfectly exotic and romantic place. The restaurant has opened in this location in the heart of the Altstadt back in 1959 and it was the very first Chinese restaurant in China. It was opened by a former Chinese diplomat and his German wife. The daughter, Greta Chi, in art Greta Maxwell, has been an actress in some minor movies in the US (apart from an appearance in the TV series Bewitched), she has been running the restaurant several years and eventually sold it in 2010 to the facing nice hotel “Zum weissen Kreuz”. The building where there is the restaurant today is very old and there is even a builder of Wagner who used to go there too, when it was something else. I have just seen the ground floor room, but the restaurant is really big and has two more floors. In summer you can eat outside and I definitely going to try.Service: very friendly and professional. I was dining alone and everybody was really lovely and entertaining. The restaurant manager is originally from Sri Lanka, one of the most beautiful countries I have visited in Asia. He has been working for the restaurant for 30 years and knows a lot of interesting things about the history of the place in case you love digging into the story and the soul of the places where you eat. I have also met one of the cooks and overall the staff was impeccable. Food: I recommend what I have ordered: Chicken with morels (Chinese mushoorms) and a portion of dim sum. I have lived in China ten years and have found the food authentic and delicate. I would like if I’d tell this is the best Chinese I had, but probably is the best you can find in town. I appreciate also that there was not much (if any) MSG and the seasonings were very delicate. The chicken meat was delicious, as usual in Switzerland. Likewise everything in Switzerland, it is expensive: 6 dim sum for nearly CHF 20, the chicken with morels about CHF 30 (I had it alone but the portion could suffice also for two not too hungry persons), but I would not blame the restaurant as wherever you go in Switzerland, prices are by far higher than other expensive cities.Dear 464emanuelathank you so much for your excellent review. As you noticed we have 6 chinese chefs in the kitchen to serve authenitc food, they are directly form Peking. Our restaurant opend in 1959 and is the oldes chineses restaurant of Switzerland. Our staff will be deligthed to read your review! Hope seeing you again. Greetings form snowing Lucerne
