Discover Restaurants offering the best Chinese food in Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia. Langkawi is a serene archipelago of 140 islands – only a few of which are inhabited. The largest of these is the eponymous Langkawi Island, which has UNESCO World Geopark status because of its richly populated (by wildlife, that is) conservation areas. The best way to experience these ecological wonders is from high above, on the Langkawi Sky Bridge that stretches above the rainforest. Cheekily-named Pregnant Maiden freshwater lake is a great place to take a dip or play keep-away with the kleptomaniac monkeys.

Having read the positive reviews, my hubby and I decided to check out Shin Mi. When we drove to the restaurant, we thought it had closed down because of the abandoned front section. It had no lights and showed kind of run down, but drove back to check out further and found it had relocated to the back of this run down place. We had to drive down this small lane to reach it.We were presented menus which were so old that parts of the description were not visible. It was alright as I could refer to my hubby's. We placed orders for Prawns In Black Pepper Sauce, Soft Shell Crabs, Fish Fillet with Ginger and Spring Onions, Baby Kailan in Oyster Sauce and a portion of Singapore Beehoon with an Indian server. The food arrived one at a time but the Baby Kailan never appeared. We decided to give it a pass as we were almost done with our meal.I would say the Prawns were a bit odd, the shells were soft and soggy. The Soft Shell Crabs were cut up into tiny bits, and battered without any seasonings but was served with a mild sauce. Even the Fish Fillet was not fresh and tasted bland, but the Singapore Beehoon was surprisingly good. The Indian servers did not check on us while we were dining but had full attention on a Caucasian old couple who appeared to be regulars while the Chinese Lady Boss was busy attending to her family and grandchild. With all these going on, they missed our vegetables and charged us on our bill till we pointed the error to the Indian server. He brought it to the attention of the Lady Boss who caused a commotion at the cashier's counter. She never came over to arrest the issue or apologise but scolded the server who had to extend the apology. If we ever return to Langkawi, we will never ever dine at this outlet again!!!!!

Charlieâs Bar & Grill is the embodiment of island life. This restaurant and bar provides a casual , laid back and contemporary ambience for meeting friends and enjoying great meals. The cuisine is a mix of local Malaysian delights and popular internationa
Not too sure where to begin on this one as too much to be said! In a nutshell... very disappointing. Set withing the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club we visited Charlie's Grill, which left a bad taste in our mouths (literally) as the food was rather appauling. We kept it simple with Sea bass fish & chips 35 Ringgits. The fish was hardly edible due to toughness & being dry. We left a large chunk of our food on the plates. Most had expressed that this was the place to enjoy sundown but we would say the opposite. The environment is not comfortable nor are the cocktails any good (very watery) for 24 Ringgits each & the staff are rather unenthused by your visit. We could not wait to finish up & leave. This is not the kind of Yacht Club one would expect but if your after cheap, then perhaps go during the day for a beer or a coffee only to see the boats but apart from that you cannot stay long here as nothing else to it. Take moschito spray with you if adamant to visit in the evening. There is nothing 'Royal' about this Yacht Club!

Awful staff, awful atmosphere and awful food. This place wants your money and you out asap.Yes it's cheap and there is a good reason for that. The quality of the food served here matches the cost..... Cheap.I can honestly say I have had better frozen rice at home. The Thai style chicken was a cut up breaded chicken escalop smothered in sweet chilli dipping sauce... Foul. This is the worst meal we have had since arriving a week a go. Far better places to visit.

Situated in Pantai Cenang, the resort centre of Langkawi. We specialize in Asian Fusion and fine Chinese Seafood cuisine. Our menu is varied, you can enjoy live seafood dishes freshly made daily for lunch and dinner. From live lobster to fresh seafood cooked
Wonderful dining experience. You select the fish you want from the tank, itâs freshly prepared in Chinese steam style, juicy delicious fish in a spicy sauce. Fresh Mango salad and veggies as side. If you wish, they serve decent white wine here too (due to Langkawiâs tax-privileged status not as expensive as in Malaysia mainland).

Besides the reasonable food prices and cheap drinks the atmosphere and the friendly staff is why this restaurant is one of our favourites. They have a large selection of meals and everything we have ordered is always delicious. Local dishes ate very cheap and good size portions.Plenty of parking available and clean bathroom on site.

Came highly recommended as Kuah's top seafood place. Arrived as it opened for the evening to avoid the crowds. Ordered the chilli crabs, steamed large prawns and several local vegetables. The chilli crabs and the prawns were delicious. The crabs were cooked to perfection in a well balanced sweet garlicky tradional chilli sauce. The large fresh prawns were streamed correctly with slivers of ginger in Cantonese style. (My preference over the pan fried dark soy sauce version)All finger licking tasty and such good value too. Crabs and some seafood are subject to market prices. The restaurant is now managed by the next generation but with family elders still very much involved.A well deserved commendations.Good food list ticked.
