Things to do in Haverhill

My friend suggested going here, as apparently itâs the best Chinese out of the ones in Haverhill. When we arrived all we heard was a member of staff shouting at the other staff. That was not a good first impression. Service was poor. Very slow to order our drinks, and had to wait ages for them to arrive. We ordered a sharing platter and duck, which we didnât get given together! We ordered more drinks and had to wait ages again for that. By this point we decided not to order mains, just to get the bill and leave. Definitely wouldnât be returning.
Where to eat Asian food in Haverhill: The Best Restaurants and Bars
Quality food, freshly prepared, hot and tasty. Menu is eclectic and caters for varied tastes. Recommended.
Without question the worst Chinese takeaway I have ever had. The duck had clearly been re-fried at least twice and was rock solid and utterly inedible. The rice noodles were just noodles and tasted of washing up liquid somehow and the sweet and sour balls were dry and tasteless. The lady on the phone was very polite and offered good service but the food was stunningly awful - avoid.

With parking to the side of the China Garden takeaway, this is a very convenient location. The staff seem fairly disinterested in customers. The shop is old fashioned...that does not really matter, you are here to buy delicious takeaway! We chose the mixed stater platter that was plopped in a polystyrene box and was not hot and appeared to have been pre-cooked? The main course of chicken chop suey lacked a critical ingredient...chicken. The shredded crispy Chile beef was a congealed lump of gunge, which I am afraid went straight in the bin.

Based on the takeaways we have had delivered this is a pretty good Chinese. I have only given it 3 stars as the delivery time is usually between 1hr and 1.5hrs which is an exceptionally long time, this applies to any night that I have ordered. Several of the family give this 4 Stars.

There are quite a few bad take away's in this town, but Gavin's is certainly up the top. The food we received from there was totally inedible, in fact the chicken curry and rice went straight into the bin.The chicken was slimy and tasted of fish.So strong was the taste we believed we may have ordered prawn by mistake. A pancake roll, the size and shape of a small football ,quickly followed. When opened, the roll inside was burnt black, we did not even attempt to taste it. The rest of the order was equally as bad. When a Chinese take away cannot even get the basics right, you know you are in trouble.
Every time I go here it is stunning. Never get an order wrong. Great service. Always hot when I get home. Wouldn't go anywhere else. Really tasty fresh food
