Family dining in an impressive oriental atmosphere. Voted "Best Ethnic Food" in the Region 20 years in a row! Ample parking with easy access. Lunch specials served daily. Healthy choice and gluten-free menu options. Full bar and children's menu available.
Overall, a pretty decent Chinese restaurant in Freeport, obviously in Chicago I would expect better. But for Freeport, good food, decent prices with friendly service. Loved the claypot they give you to grill your teriyaki kabobs, I've never seen that before and it was a cool experience.

I've eaten at many Chinese buffets. This one is truly ordinary. There's nothing bad about it. It's just ordinary. There are many selections, but none of them are extraordinary. And some, like the hot and sour soup, are truly bland. Lots of fried foods, but I guess that's what most people want.If you want a lot of food for a low price, and you don't care about subtle flavors, this is a reasonable, if ordinary, choice. From the girth of the average patron, I guess many use China Buffet as a feeding trough.
Stopped by here quick to get a to go order. It is a pretty rinkydink lookin place and I wouldn't want to actually sit and eat. While waiting for my order to be cooked I was the only one sitting down in the small eating area of the building. Everyone else was taking out to go orders that they had called in. The prices differ between lunch and dinner. I ordered a large veggie fried rice (one packed full Chinese take out container, and a general tsao's chicken ($8.25), which came with brown plain fried rice. The sauce for the chicken was awesome. The fried rice had nice texture, seasoned with soy sauce, kind of oily, big slabs of broccoli (I wish they were cut up better ). The total for my order was $16. Price a bit high for my liking, mainly for a bunch of rice! The employees were cordial. I did not see a bathroom. Entree prices range between $5.50 and 9. I did not see any vegan, vegetarian, gluten free dishes. Did not see any tofu. Not sure what kind of oil or seasonings they use. Next time I'm in the mood for Chinese I want to try panda next to menards on the other side of town.
