Changed hands a little while ago. Always skeptical when places change hands. After first visit, I was pleased. I have visited a number of times now and have tried several items on the take-out menu, all have been very good. Even better than the previous ownership. Definitely recommend!

I have ordered Chinese food from different establishments within East Haven and none have truly impressed me. China Star stands one notch above the others because they have friendly customer service, reliable delivery, and decent food. However, I do not expect cuisine when I order from China Star; I expect typical American Chinese food with sometimes questionable chicken. I've never gotten sick and it satisfies my desire for Chinese take-out.

My husband and I have been ordering our Chinese take out from here for years! We've tried several in the are and just liked this place the best! Crab rangoons are delicious! My husband has probably tried almost everything on the menu and never complains. I typically get chicken and broccoli and they deal with my picky orders no problem! Also like the convenience of their new online ordering. Definitely order from here if in the area!

As Chinese buffets go, this one is pretty good. We visited during the early part of a Saturday supper hour. The food was fresh and hot and there was a good variety of food. The service was attentive and pleasant. Prices were commensurate with other Chinese buffets. This is definitely wort a stop and a great alternative to a burger joint.

I just went here today. I stopped in and ordered there to take home. Service was excellent, workers working hard to keep up with orders on a busy rainy day here. After seeing 5* review on a site that lists dishes at places and customer reviews I ordered the ribs with the bone along with shrimp toast, wonton soup, fried rice and crab rangoons. My order was ready in about 10 minutes. The ribs were cooked in something that looked like a pizza oven with flame but were probably slow cooked before hand. The meat was so tender, the ribs plump and they were fantastic. The shrimp toast tasted great, crab rangoons were ok, not much crab flavor and the pork fried rice was very fresh and was excellent. Wonton soup was a bit darker broth than you usually see but tasted good except for that ginger like flavor some places choose to have in their meat in the wonton . Some people like that me not so much. You have to try the ribs here!

I've been going here for years because the food is very good, the vegetables used (except canned mushrooms) are very fresh, and the sauces they make are very tasty. The hot & sour soup is made to order. Don't forget to ask for hot oil in case it's too mild.I've only gone for take-out. I don't think the atmosphere is appropriate for in-house dining since the place is small and tends to have a lot of foot traffic past the tables
