I order out there every other month or two. It is not bad, but it is far from great; there just isn't anyplace better in the area. The prices are very reasonable with big portions, if that helps.

Not much to say. Place is cold inside. Poor decor. Poor food. Usual fake Chinese food ruined by American tastes and prepared for Americans who unfortunately don't know what Chinese food even is.Sorry - don't mean to appear elitist but this is a cultural thing. Chinese food is one of the world's great cuisines. They don't have Genral Tsao's chicken in China, they don't eat fortune cookies and they don't cover everything in sickeningly sweet and bad for you sauces. Real Chinese food is as far as you can get from most takeout places. By the way, the folks in these restaurants work very hard to pay off the outrageous debts they incur to be smuggled to come here so don't pick on them. They are told what to cook.But judged from a takeout American Chinese perspective, Rising Sun even falls short. Don't waste your time. Is it better than the horrible Wegman's chinese buffet? - yes. If you want a decent takeout stray from the usual choices on the menu. I would recommend Great Wall in Canandaigua over this place and way over Wegman's. Victor NY has a very decent takeout family run mostly take-out restaurant called Panda Chinese - if you want good Chinese takeout (try their hot and sour soup and their Singapore Noodles).

This is a pretty new place in Canandaigua. Very bright, clean and pleasant place. The owner and people working there are very nice. Great menu, hitting both Chinese and Japanese items. Everything we've tried has been just super. Probably the best Chinese I've ever had, and I've had a lot. Rest of family loves the food here. Much, much more to try here.
