Ordered a medium portion of the soup bah kut teh (dry/soup available). Taste was just nice. Unlike the usual type of strong herbal or pepper soup base. This is the in between. My family didnt have enough of it and ordered another clayport of bah kut teh. Definately a go-to restaurant if you are in the region.
A local Malaysian Chinese food with Seafood specialities . An Informal low budget cafe with Chinese and English language menus.
I donât know about the other good reviews on this restaurant.. as you know sometimes , itâs interested parties who logged in to put those âgoodâ reviews . My reviews are based on facts and actual experience that they canât refute . My family went for dinner today June 15th , arrive at 7pm and waited till 8.30 pm for first dish to arrive . And we ordered only simple dish like tofu , lala soup , vege and fuyong egg. Nobody came to apologise and they told me 20 mins. Ended up 1.5 hours . Potential customers : you decide for yourself ...
I live in BP and my family have come to Ocean for dinner regularly for the last 30 years. Ocean is one of BP's original Chinese dining places, and they now have a few branches around town. The one on Jln Shahbandar is the best in my opinion, but it's older and has less seating. On weekends, book a table or you won't get a place! Try their 鱼头ç(fish head hotpot) and èç¯ (yam ring). They also do a huge array of one person lunch dishes, but I have never tried them. Service is generally good but the waitresses don't really speak English. Good food and great memories here, give them a try!
Childhood classic design with comfortable environment. we providing various variety food as western, organic salad,Asian delight and homemade dessert. in beverage we have fresh brews coffee, chilled beer and freshly cold pressed juice. Great location for b
fresh cooked, less cholesterol, vegetarian friendly, classic style with old school feeling, affordable price
We ordered fish n chips, fried chicken wings, honey lemon (hot). Chicken wings were absolutely crispy, made to perfection . The sauce with the fish n chips was a Thai sweet and sour sauce . That was good as well. Hot honey lemon - had a certain fragrance probably either of the honey or a rose flavour . Great service
The captain who took our order was really informative and recommended some suitable dishes for our group of very young to the very old (4 to 82 years old). Especially recommended is the braised longevity noodles and the treasure pot. Their trademark tofu was also delicious and special. Even though they were very busy that night (3 wedding dinner reception, we were informed of the correct time to expect the food and it was worth the wait.Highly recommended for good Chinese food
Yong's Steamboat is famous with steamboat but that's not all. We like to order dishes to go with rice. The fried chicken wings is a must-have. This round we have their signature tofu, Marmite Ribs, vegetable and vegetables pancake. It always ends with a complimentary fruits (watermelon & jelly). The salad that came with the ribs was a surprise, it has some marinated mango slices and topped with black sesame, looking great! These dishes for 4 cost about RM60+, definitely affordable.

Wow good ambience and seafood dinner. I attended a grand 108 table wedding dinner held there. Good food and very big restaurant. Beautiful stage and lightings. Classic of Malaysian standard in a town. Service was good. Car parking insufficient.

Kway Zhap is one of the best Teo Chew dishes. Soon Lai has preserve the great taste over the years. It is one of the food that all the Batu Pahatian who are working or studying in other states ought to have when they come home. There are wide varieties of dishes you may choose, from intestines, pork, blood, braised tofu, braised egg, tofu skin, century egg, bak-kwa, to chicken feet, peanuts, etc. You may also choose to go with rice or kway-zhap, a similar steam rice sheet that cut into bigger pieces than kway-teow that soak in the broth. Always full house, do go early like 11am or expect an hour waiting to be served.

It is slightly more expensive than the usual ones from the hawker and kopitiam, and frankly there are much better ones. The noodles is not springy enough, and the cha xiu is dry and tough. The portion is also on the small side. This would be last time I visit.
