On our last meal in Batam on a 3 day getaway, we decided to have a Chinese lunch after 2 continuous days of seafood. The name Grand Duck was impressive and lifted our expectations. However, upon the first bite, reality sank in and disappointment showed in most of the faces of our 26pax group. The duck skin wasnât crispy and the taste did not elicit a craving for more. Sorry I had to put it down that most roast duck hawker stalls in Singapore could offer a much better dish. The other food like tempura brinjal, steamed grouper, toufu and cereal prawns were acceptable and did help to pacify our disappointment a little.

Place is clean with OK toilets. Seafood is very delicious. We ordered black pepper crabs, chilli crabs, salted egg crabs, herbal soup prawns, fried chicken, vegetables, gong gong, lala, steam fish for 11pax. Bill was around S$150. Worth a visit. Location within walking distance from BCS mall n the other hotel. We went there around 530pm n place was quiet. However when we finished our dinner, the place was packed. So early if u want a good dinner. Yes their avocado n soursop juice was very good. We love it

I really like its concept. From outside it's just ordinary building, but once you step inside you will see a greeny garden. The food is so so, but their refresh water is marvelous And mashed cassava is good too ( it's not on menu but it's side dish of lamb chop).Dear Tata H,Thank You for your input comment, it is a positive issue that we already fixed.We are already make an improvement. Our family booked a Chinese New Year set dinner package. The food was so-so. Many of the meat dishes were overcooked and served lukewarm rather than hot. The restaurant was rather dimly lit, which didn't help the dining experience. Somewhat disappointing overall, considering the price we paid.

Thereâs nothing really to rave about this restaurant. We preferred the seafood soup better than the fish soup. We also had a plate of fried seafood which is not bad, not oily. We went to the one I think at Batam center. Not very good service, the staff taking our order didnât really get our orders write. As he was writing, donât know why he keep looking elsewhere I have to wave at him to get him to focus back on our ordering. For us, it would be a one time visit not something that will make us wanna go back.

Have always enjoyed dining in a outdoor setting, and i have to say that Hooray Eatery did not fall short of my expectation. They mostly serve modern food with the likes of salted egg chicken, sate taichan (this is very different), loklok, indomie and many more! Price is reasonable as well, will frequent often!

I ordered black pepper crab, kailan and hotplate tofu. All 3 were yummy and tasted as good as Singapore Chinese restaurant. Bill came out at 454k IDR which is pretty cheap and most important left with a happy stomach.
