We were a large party and we like to eat in the same time so we decided to go to one of the boffe style meal. Immediately, my kids suggested this place. It was my first time. There was large selection plus the Habatshi style counter to do any special meal for you, the service was not the greatest part but the place is very busy and the priority was to clean table for the new customers, after all, it was a nice meal

Exactly one year ago, we ate here with our daughter and her family but this year decided to order take out. With 3 children aged 7, 5 and 3, we were able to avoid such a busy crowded restaurant on Christmas evening and enjoyed the same high quality food in a much more relaxed atmosphere. We had a great selection of dishes including sushi, shrimp, steak, sea bass, scallops, noodles and others that I cannot recall. Everything was delicious.

I usually go to Flaming Grill, down the road, but decided to try Island Buffet. It's very good, but I think Flaming slightly edges it out. It's a little smaller than Flaming, with a little less selection, but at a lower price. Island gives more sauce choice, at it's hibachi grill, than Flaming does.

As I mention previous review. I was in Long Island area for 35 days and this one local restaurant I ate at quite often. At this hole-in-wall I got to know the staff and they got to know me and always treated me well. I sensitive to MSG and Shell Fish and when I come in, I think was the owner or manager. They make sure my food was prepared to my liking. This not a place to take your date, most of their business is take-out. There are few tables and good place for good meal on low budget. You can see them prepare your food, which I prefer when I travel.

Pretty good Chinese takeout, nut a bit pricier than others. It would help if the manager would smile once in a while.
