My friend and I visited the cevicheria three times during our stay in Castro after discovering the gem that is the Salmon Empanada. I have lived in Chile for a year and this is the single best empanada I have ever had, it takes a little while because the chef prepares them fresh and they come out hot. I highly reccomend. The staff and ambiance are lovely. I will sincerely miss these empandas!Gracias Laura estamos de acuerdo que la empanada es una maravilla, gracias por su visita. Saludos.

Thursday nights are quiet during the dark and cold Chilote winter, so finding something good, open or crowded ain't easy. I had seen Almud "bar" before and didn't enter, yesterday we did, and it was good. I had something simple, just some freshly made pineapple juice and some great pizza. The surprise? Good and friendly service and great food. Instead of one big pizza I got four small ones, full of flavour, different types of chillies, chilli preserve, cheese and avocado! So good. I'm really looking forward to the massive piscolas they offer and I AM going back for some more pizza!!!Why did I put "bar", becaise it is a restaurant and by law you have to be eating something warm if drinking, and cops are quite strict about it!! Great discovery!

Our concierge at the palafito where we stayed suggested this little restaurant managed by young local guys and it's been really a nice surprise. As a courtesy rather than the usual bread with butter and pebre they offered delicious mussels. We then tried the ceviche, ravioli filled with mussels and pumpkin smoked with rosemary and charquican all fresh and really well prepared. Also notable the excellent quality/price ratioDear client, we deeply appreciate that you have visited us and we hope we had given you a nice gastronomic experience and an excellent service. On behalf of all our team, we will be pleased to bring you a great moment whenever you want. We hope you have a magical stay on the island, and for reservations, have no doubt to contact us at 652532828.

Itâs worth the 20 minute walk out of town to find it. Authentic Chilean and Peruvian seafood dishes. Fresh, tasty and served in generous portions. The atmosphere is congenial, with a buzz of convivial conversation. Service is welcoming, swift yet unobtrusive. The sea view is memorable.

If you love seafood, then you canât miss this place when you are in Castro. Thereâs also a lovely terrace that faces the water, offering a cosy and casual atmosphere. The food was fresh and delicious, with generous portion sizes. Being a seafood lover, there were so many appetising options on the menu that it was hard to make a decision. In the end, my Boyfriend and I decided to share a starter (tuna ceviche), which was delish; the tiny pieces of strawberries added a nice fresh contrast to the flavours. As for my main, I went for the seafood broth with clams, mussels, which was yumz, though the waiter recommended the crab gratin, which did sound appealing. My boyfriend had the mussels, which was delicious, though the accompanying fries werenât that much, especially if you are used to having âmoules and fritesâ, with lots of frites. Nonetheless, the food taste was excellent, and I would go back again the next time Iâm ever in Castro!Wow, what a nice review. Thanks for so nice words! and for shared you experience with other customers.

Having seen the glowing reviews we were very much looking forward having dinner at Rucalaf. The service was in fact friendly and very helpful in explaining all local dishes. Also the drinks we've got especially the murta sour were seriously good. The starters and the main dish were consistently dry, hard to chew and simply disappointing. I tried the pulmay as a main dish and I never had mussels as dry as these. Considering it was supposed to be a stew with some broth to it, this dish was abysmal. The dessert was okayish. A caramel cream with myrtle berries. Slightly to sweet but enjoyable. In the end the bill was not near worth it. Since there are numerous much better options quite nearby I would not go there again.
