Things to do in Calama
Bathroom, cleanPlace, goodLunch, goodBut, I request Cazuela of Vacuno and wait for 1 hours and not arrived to me... An this point was: very very bad!!!For your consider when you request lunch for your trip this Restaurant
I was on business trip to Calama, city where you arrive when you go to San Pedro de Atacama. I was looking for a place to dinner and I was told by a colegue this was a realy nice place to eat with a bar on the second floor. I went and ordered chicken stuffed with goat cheese and herbs with sided steamed vegetables and a pisco sour (chilean very common drink), my colegues ordered a Steak and a ceviche. I was sorprised with the presentation of the food and the teaste was amazing the pisco sour although wasn´t good at all. Service need to be more friendly however I find out that in Calama this is very regular. I will go for either dinner or luch again whatsoever. It is very rustic so if you want nice cushioned seat or fancy arrangements this is not your place.
Scout looks like a simple grill fastfood, but food is really delicious. I've eaten there the most perfect grilled salmon of my life. The meatdishes are very copious and grilled like you asked. The service is good and friendly. Most local people who come for a quick meal, but you can spend a good time with a low budget.
When we sat down we asked for the wine list, then quickly ordered a bottle of Malbec. The bottle arrived and was uncorked just as we started our desert. The food - a buffet - was over cooked and pretty bad. To make matters worse, it's the first time in 20 years that I've gotten sick in Chile.

We have been here as we found this restaurant on top of Trip Advisors list. The ambience is very nice as well as the prices - therefore we expected some great dinner. Unfortunately the request for one vegetarian meal could not be fulfilled at all so that we went for seafood. Both meals have been eatable but nothing more. The probably self made bread before has been of much better quality. Desert (chocolate cake) would have been great without that much crumbles. The bar showed a great range of fine bottles which we did not go for. Maybe the bartender is better than the chef. In the end we paid much for leaving an empty restaurant disappointed.

The service was excellent and the food was really surprisingly, considering where we were, very good. And the live music was really good. Highly recommended

We opened the restaurant at 8:00 p.m., no other customers. However, that quickly changed. The atmosphere is nice with some effort at giving it a German feel. The wait staff were attentive and knowledgeable. We ordered the "parillada for 2". It was quite tasty, though I would have preferred the steak a little more rare. I would have liked more vegetable choices. The beer on tap is good in both taste and quantity. Overall a pleasant experience in a town with limited dining options.

My husband and I frequented this restaurant often while living in Calama. The chicken and Rustico sandwich were excellent and portion size was huge. One plate could easily feed two people and the prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is casual and friendly. Definitely a restaurant I recommend.
