Find out what Central-Italian restaurants to try in Valletta. Founded in 1565 by the Order of St John as a refuge for soldiers returning from the Crusades, Valletta is now the capital of Malta and a piece of living history. With an unsurpassed collection of original Baroque architecture, fortified city walls overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, and the spectacular Co-Cathedral of St John, which features intricately carved stone vaults and a famed painting by Caravaggio, it is no wonder that this smallest of European capital cities is a world heritage site.

Sotto pizzeria italiana, rising up a72 hours, a mixture of selected 4 flour to eat the real Roman pizza. Sotto pizzeria italianaSouth Street in Valletta, 32.
A sizeable menu with many options usually suggest the basics are somehow forgotten...but not here. The pizzas were very good actually and we didnât leave a scrap. The beer menu is smaller but there are some interesting choices on it. Overall, tasty and filling....and we booked to go back 2 days later (recommended as they are rightfully popular and routinely turn people away).

Go straight past all the other outlets on this street like they were not there.....and you will eventually find a simpler place BUT with good quality food. Their much talked about Carbonara was indeed good, but so was my ragu. The tiramisu, whilst not large, made up for it in being very tasty. Just one beer choice here (the local Cisk) but thatâs a small point. Nice pleasant service too and reasonable prices for the undoubted quality. Recommended !

An italian trattoria and Pizzera, serving genuine italian cusinine in the heart of Valletta in Old Theatre street just off St George`s Square. We offer a variety of mouthwatering dishes including in Pizza and Pasta.
There are two parts to this place, the first opens out onto the street, which is where we sat and the second is below street level. Be careful about where you sit as some chairs are placed precariously close to drops and it was clear that one person had moved their chair backwards slightly and fallen causing damage to the surroundings.Service was a bit hit and miss and it seemed that there were a lot of new staff being trained that night. My pizza could have done with slightly more slices of pepperoni and my partner's chicken salad could have done with slightly more chicken and slightly less lettuce. Both were acceptable but could have been improved to make the meal five star.
