If you want an outside table in the summer at the weekend you're best to make a booking. Set high on the hill it commands great views over the rolling Umbrian countryside. Meats and cheeses to share as a starter, along with the tastiest courgette flan. Mains of porchetta style pork and veal cheek. Desserts of chocolate fondant, tiramisu and pannacotta with pear poached in red wine. Food is wonderful, service is great. We've been here for a number of years and it's consistently very good.

Vinosofia is not technically a restaurant, as classified by Trip Advisor. It is first and foremost an outstanding wine bar. However, one can enjoy an enticing selection of dishes for lunch, an aperitivo or early, light dinner. Most recently, my wife and I enjoyed salmon tartare (tuna and trout were also available) on a bed of tasty polenta, surrounded with fresh sliced avocado. Delicious soups, bruschetta, sliced meats and unique cheese selections, all artfully presented, are amongst the several other menu selections. The wine inventory is comprised of top choices from every region of Italy, as well as typical Umbrian wines, and all can be had by the glass or bottle. Eat inside at the bar or outside on the deck. If oneâs preference is a cold beer or a good single malt scotch, both (and more) can be enjoyed here, as well. Vinosofia is steps above other wine tasting enotecas in Spello and its surrounds.Thank you so much for truly understanding and appreciating our concept here at Vinosofia. Passavo di quì per caso....dopo aver fotografato alcune testine di epoca romana murate sulla facciata un edificio lì nei pressi in via dell'angelo, ho notato al civico 68 della via Consolare la bottega del ' Podere Filippucci ' . Questa è una attività di vendita di prodotti tipici e aziendali di buona qualità che è in linea con i prezzi di zona. Certo,si sà , la qualità si paga ! Altrimenti c'è il super-mercato dove a qualità inferiore, per una fascia di prodotti, equivale un prezzo inferiore. E' possibile assaggiare sia taglieri generosi di formaggi e salumi che ottimi vini della regione. Arredamento rustico,atmosfera da cantina in architettura d'epoca.
